I doubt he was injured. He wants off and we’ll want as much money as possible if he goes.
We can stand in his way and wait til the summer but the problem with that is will we get the maximum out of him in between times? Think Biss last year. Poor in Jan but although we all knew he’d be off in the summer he got his head down and did ok for the rest of the season.
Will Tross? Looks like a no.

Unless he’s being sold within days - he’s not - then how does a fake injury make any sense. And then how does any of this sort of behaviour that you’re alleging actually help him get the move he’s after (and supposedly his agent wants) either in Jan or July ? Isn’t the best way to maximise that fee, and big club interest to is surely to get back in the team and start scoring a few goals against Liverpool, Leicester and Palace. ?

To be fair, he is getting paid very well to do a job, so he should get on with it.
What a terrible attitude some players have.
I don't think DeZerbi would be one to hide behind excuses and would say, as he has, what the problem is.

I think it's the most interesting thing in all this. RDZ clearly isn't happy with him. It can't just be inconsistency that's riled him.

If there’s one thing I’ve noticed about RDZ, is that he absolutely will not tolerate a lack of effort. A mistake, fine - trying a trick and it doesn’t come off - he’ll shrug. But not tracking back, expect to be dropped. Not giving in all training or playing with a chip on your shoulder - bench.

It’s partly just a feeling I have, but with some evidence. He screams at this bench if they aren’t paying attention to the game. If they aren’t up celebrating a key goal he waves everyone up. It’s an all for one environment that he wants to instil.

He dropped Trossard after a couple of, frankly, very poor performances and had no qualms putting in an 18 year old prospect given a lack of experienced options.

RDZ, despite some surface similarities, seem like chalk and cheese to me.

To give one final speculation, there will be players who don’t get on him, because I suspect he will say some real home truths at times. After Everton, for example, he made it clear he wasn’t at all happy with the first half of football. I can see some of the softer bellied players (of which I can only really think of about two in the entire squad) may react badly.

I absolutely love RDZ already, and feel a connection to him as a passionate, attacking coach that I didn’t feel once under Graham Potter, much as I respected him during his time here.

An inevitable bad run isn’t going to change that and neither will players who clash with him - they’ll just be managed out. And pretty much every singing we seem to make it a profitable upgrade.

If this means Tross is off, fine, but I would hope to see a portion of that money reinvested immediately in a few more for the pipeline.

According to the BBC gossip page, we have turned down a verbal offer from Tottenham.
no mention of the amount, it’s still fairly early still in the window, this could well turn into a bidding war and he could well be off in this window. Trossard will be aware of the interest, I hope he’s not one of those players that downs tools.

I think at a big club where he won’t be the focus he’ll get lost with some big name instead having most of the ball and him feeding off the other 1/4. I’d take 50-60M and move on with Mitoma if given the chance but as his contract ticks down and age creeps up, worry we’ll be stuck in awkward middle territory in terms of fees/offers. Spurs are also not the club to be squeezing a decent bid out of sadly.

I'm sure when RDZ joined he joked (or perhaps stated) that he never lasts more than a couple of years in any job before players get upset because of the intensity of his approach.

Not surprising as he pops up with big goals in big games - but watching him regularly is different. He’ll play a blinder for half an hour, then you’ll forget he’s on the pitch for the rest of the game. Sometimes you don’t even get the blinder. He’s an excellent player for us but really, in this country, we’re about the right level for him I think. It’d be a shame if he makes a lucrative move and it ends up spoiling what should be the best years of his career.

Highly rate that. Yeah if Trossard is being like that, then he can f*** off. No time for it. We will cope without him, no matter how shit it might be that we are slightly weakened. In any other job, you just get fired.

I think Newcastle is where he will end up. Either way it is absolutely nuts that we might lose someone like him to a far richer club above us in the league but he is no longer a nailed on starter for us. Ridiculous.
