I don’t remember Yems being obviously racist and the Crawley fans turned as soon as he was suspended and the players spoke out. They were as apalled as the rest of the football world.
I really think this is not an area where differentiators can or should be made.
The bloke used separate dressing rooms and racist epithets.

Despite the best efforts of PBOBE fans here have leaked first team line ups and injury news. But no one at a local League 2 club knew that? Ok then.

Crawley host Brighton & Hove Albion Women until they get a proper home.
In other news Worthing is a town on the south coast that reached the playoffs of the National League South with some ex Brighton players and Eastbourne is east of Lewes.

Crawley a suburb of Croydon? You’re nuts.

I’m sorry to see the hostility towards another Sussex club. A no-brainer for me. It would be great for the county to have them promoted and playing the likes of Birmingham, Huddersfield, Peterborough etc.

I used to occasionally see Crewe when I lived in Manchester but went off them and St Dario a bit after the sexual abuse scandal.
It’s full of Palace. It’s the Antithesis of Scenic Sussex. It’s practically Surrey. No one there supported us in the dark days and hardly any do now. Kick it over the boundary and be done. It is a **** hole, with no affiliation to the Albion or indeed rest of the county and never has done.

I’m not sure that’s true - I go to Crawley games and chat to plenty Albion fans there. I remember for many years I had to send my little cheque off to the Brighton Supporters Club and it was to an address in Crawley!

Palace fans live in many parts of Sussex, don’t blame them TBH if they have moved away from South London

You are kind of half right in mentioning Yems but not for the reasons you state. Practically no fan knew about the Yems situation before it broke in the media - indeed the players affected specifically mentioned the culture of silence about his behaviour when they complained about him to the FA.

However, for me, there were too many Crawley fans who stuck with Yems and didn’t back the players after the allegations emerged, and that’s not something that reflects well on the fan base. How many it’s not clear tho and it has to be said every club has a problematic track record at times with a minority. I remember going to Albion games at Luton in the Noughties and there was some pretty gross chanting about the town’s Asian population that a LOT of people joined in with.

It should be pointed out that since Yems, Crawley have appointed as many as three black managers in either permanent or interim status in charge of preparing the team for games, Kevin Betsy, Lewis Young and Darren Byfield

I know / work with more Albion fans here than Palace?

Given Crawley had been non league at the time any cash raised from a ground share would have been welcomed.

Why would they have said no?

I can't be doing with this dislike for Crawley on here. It's pure snobbery because it isn't by the sea and is a blue collar town - but it's no less Sussex than Horsham or Eastbourne FFS.

Some of these people sneering at the place on here should front up and tell us where they live, so that rest of us can go on and on and on and on telling them what an utter shithole it is.

Anyway they had sold 12,000 tickets an hour ago. I reckon they'll end up taking 20-25,000.

I live 8 miles from Crawley and there are far more Albion than Palace fans there. It's always the people who have hardly ever been to the place who come up with this shit.

If you want to be accurate, Crawley is the sort of place where most people support one of the big 4 London clubs. Palace barely feature, and are definitely miles behind us in Crawley.
