I remember when they used to outclass us most games. Especially the game at Withdean when Dean Ashton ripped us a new oneLooks like we have a few Crewe fans here!
And me (1980-81).20,000 will probably do them
I noticed at the League trophy thingy final, Peterborough and Wycombe sold about 16,000 each.
Plenty will jump on the bandwagon to add to Crawley’s bad name as historically a few Herbert’s have lived there including two Palace brothers that liked to start it all, one of Chelsea’s main lunatics (and he was) not to mention a notorious Millwall face. (Having said that, this was the mid 80s mind)
And up at their place.I remember when they used to outclass us most games. Especially the game at Withdean when Dean Ashton ripped us a new one
Lol.I struggle to want Crawley to do well as I think they refused to let us use their stadium when the Goldstone was sold by Archer and Stanley. Should I let it go or carry on being vindictive?
I can never get excited about Crawley FC. I grew up on the doorstep of and yet feel more affinity to Carlisle than I do that suburb of Croydon. Sorry Creepy, but another Crewe fan here. In fact I’ve been to the Railway Men’s more than I have Crawley so yep, best of luck Crewe!
Same Alex that supported Dario Gardi ?Glad they knocked out Franchise FC but I can’t imagine a fanbase that tolerated John Yems are the most enlightened out there.

Playoff games are massive for the clubs involved. Have memories faded so quickly? Remember that Crawley were favourites for relegation to the National League at the start of the season. They were a basket case. A few months later, they seem to be playing great football and have a date at Wembley. The lads done great and deserve a bit of love from their swanky cousins down the road.It feels like there are plenty of people who forget Crawley have previously been in league 1 we aren’t talking about them pushing for the championship. It’s nothing new just a playoff game.
Good luck to them.
Not only does it mean missing the Crawley game but Seagull Travel have cancelled my normal pick-up as the local coach companies have been booked by Crawley Town for the trip to Wembley.Very annoying that this is the same day as premier league games, thought the play offs were the bank holiday weekend usually
The difference being no way would Crewe’s fans have tolerated noncery had they known. Yems wore his racism as a badge of honour.Same Alex that supported Dario Gardi ?
Think in part an age-thing. When we were in the pre-Falmer doldrums of L1 then flirted with relegation, meeting Crawley began to become a real possibility in the league when 5 years before we had 4 divisions between?Crawley a suburb of Croydon? You’re nuts.
I’m sorry to see the hostility towards another Sussex club. A no-brainer for me. It would be great for the county to have them promoted and playing the likes of Birmingham, Huddersfield, Peterborough etc.
I used to occasionally see Crewe when I lived in Manchester but went off them and St Dario a bit after the sexual abuse scandal.
I don’t remember Yems being obviously racist and the Crawley fans turned as soon as he was suspended and the players spoke out. They were as apalled as the rest of the football world. The difference being no way would Crewe’s fans have tolerated noncery had they known. Yems wore his racism as a badge of honour.
