I think we have a chance of getting him if promoted. I think we have a chance of a lot of players! Falmer/Gus/Championship/Bloom... surely this is an attractive combination to players far and wide... Also, proximity to London! With Gus' contacts I'd be surprised if we didn't see a quality young premiership loanee or two next season.

I'd take tomlin from peterborough as well. Gary Roberts from Huddersfield, that lad from rochdale who's scored loads from midfield. Any others I can think of have already been mentioned.

Will Hoskins was quality against us down at their place. Considering he has knocked in about 18 this season in relegation bound team, he must be quite decent

SWINDON
Lewis (Peterborough)
Llalana (Saints)
Wright-Phillips (Charlton)
Please tell me you are joking about wright-phillips?

Must say the standard of players some would like to see here next season are very average,im sure gus has higher standards than most on here:thumbsup:

Not sure if hoskins is good enough and wright-phillips is no better than what we have.

Im expecting the possibility of quality foreign players joining:drink:

Gary Jones impressed me yesterday - a good old-fashioned midfield player.

Looks certain that Hoskins will be joining us and my feeling is that for the large part we will be looking at a higher level and overseas for other recruits but just to join in the fun, if I had to choose solely from League 1 to fill some of the gaps we know we will need to cover I would go for:

Craig Mackail-Smith (Peterboro) if Murray goes (otherwise Murray, Wood, Barnes, Hoskins, and Agdestein to start the season should be strong enough)
Marc Pugh from Bournemouth or George Boyd (Peterborough) to cover Elliot Bennett if he does move on
Kieran Lee from Oldham and (if McNulty moves on) Onismor Bhasera (Plymouth) as cover at fullback
Reda Johnson (ex Plymouth, now Wednesday) as a centreback who can score goals
Peter Leven (MKDons) as an experienced midfielder who can also take penalties
Ben Hamer (Reading on loan at Exeter) or Richard Lee (Brentford) as cover for Ankergren if Gus decides Brez and Walker isn't cover enough

A poor mans Andrew Crofts.

I agree, but Crofts is well out of our league now. I wasn't necessarily saying we should sign Jones, just that he impressed me yesterday. Even though we have been exceptional this year, I still don't think we have fully replaced Crofts, as Sparrow was supposed to but he is nowhere near as good.

I think all squads could do with a midfield player in the Crofts/ Jones mould, and you can't argue with 16 league goals (or whatever he has got) from midfield.

Plus - he can take penalties!

Under your skin.
I know he isn't in league one but I'd LOVE to see Jay Emmanuel-Thomas here next season, on loan from Arsenal.

Big strong, skillful lad, who clan play almost anywhere (Winger, Striker, Centre Back, Central Midfielder, Full Back) accoarding to Wiki/Football Manager

Has been on loan to Championship clubs over the last three season, mainly playing as a Midfielder, and averages a goal every 5 games.

Would be worth looking at.
