My daughter is getting married in Las Vegas in Sept 2012... have any of you fellow NSC'ters got some pleasant memories of really great hotels. The trouble is there are so many to choose from.

You really cant go wrong with anyone of them on the strip..... I have stayed at the Paris and the Stratosphere and had great experiences at both. The only real difference was the Paris was in the middle of the stirp where as the Stratosphere was on the end of the strip and either had a 15-20 min walk or a 2 minute cab ride to what most consider :"the strip". Plus to the Strat was it was about 75 bucks cheaper a night for a room but the rooms were also a bit out dated. The Paris had fantastic rooms but were a bit more pricey. Just depends on how much you want to spend really.....

It kind of depends on your budget and what you are after. When we got married in Vegas we stayed at the Luxor, which whilst a good hotel and a must see in terms of it being a pyramid is at the south end of the strip so not in the centre of the action. We went back for our anniversery and stayed a few nights in Bills which is an absolute bargain being centre strip but not exactly classy and then had a suite at the Mirage which was fantastic. Out of interest, where's the wedding going to be?

Circus circus towards the north end of teh strip was quite nice 7 years ago but i thought the Flamingo was better. Surely a wedding its got to be the fairytale castle themed hotel?

Buyers market at the moment, most hotels are empty. We stayed at Mandalay Bay, very pleasant, end of strip (next to Luxor) but really nice and very well priced!

Wynn/encore is the best hotel in Vegas followed by Venetian/palazzo all 4 won't break the bank for a standard room

Mandalay Bay is voted the best hotel in town & is better balanced for non hardcore gamblers ie its the only one with a beach for hundreds & wave machine and endless strawberry Daquiris for enjoying the sun during the day before playing the tables inc the fine poker room at night

have been to over 15 vegas hotels (lived there)

avoid excalibur,luxor,montecarlo,imperial palace,circus circus,nyny,stratoshpere

budgets vary..... wynn, venetian, bellagio, encore, pallazo, ceasers palace $140 sun-thurs fri-sat they jump up huge

other decent hotels (less than 100 dollars a night)that are very good...planet hollywood,ti,mgm,flamingo-very cheap plus decent pool)paris and mandaly bay

others that look good but are off the strip will cost you in taxis a lot more and walking miles is a big no no...the strip is 7 miles long!

We stayed at the Monte Carlo which was very pleasant. As a previous poster said, you can;t really go wrong with the big names on the strip. I would agree not to go near Circus Circus though - very 1980's

Ceasars is timeless despite being one of the original super hotels.

added to that nothing really prepares you for the size of it, each hotel is like a small town

Just returned from a few nights at the Bellagio. Fantastic rooms, all recently refurbished. Also took a look at Aria for the first time. Its virtually next door to Bellagio, so right in the middle of the strip and very modern. Rooms are also very modern, well equipped but the basic ones are slightly smaller Hightly recommended though. Have stayed in the Venetian before and that is a great hotel, especially for wedding parties.
