well, I say it is, along with Medmerry Hill, but the resedents like to call it Higher Bevendean

It was a genuine answer, The post office at the top of Hillside was, in the 70's anyway, Higher Bevendean Post Office, The Pub just down the hill was the Bevendean Hotel, for me Moulsecoombe started when you turned left into Hillside from The Avenue. Bevendean Cresent, Nyetimber Hill and Medmerry Hill had a number of privately owned houses so they were often refered to as Higher Bevendean, however unless you had a Barrett Home the only way to get there was by travelling through Moulsecoombe, It's a bit like people from Monaco denying being French. I was a Birdham Rd boy and very proud of it!

for me Moulsecoombe started when you turned left into Hillside from The Avenue.

That would make sense.
