hi there

not worried about losing the likes of benno at all

they would command massive fees

after watching brighton play i don't want poyet here

So you have lost the manager who gained you promotion to prem

Your either going to lose your top scorer. For a decent sum maybe....who would you realistically get??

So what are the positives??

there aren't too many positives if i'm perfectly honest

an end to the lambert speculation circus might not be a bad thing tho

3 years ago we were propping up league 1 and almost bankrupt so things could be a lot worse

holt is 31 now so not exactly one for the future either

this is the price of success

Seems an odd move to me. Yes Villa are a bigger club BUT they're really stagnant right now. They don't have a very good squad and by all accounts don't have much money to invest either. Most estimate about £10m will be allowed by the board for team strengthening whereas I'd have thought Norwich would have a similarly sized kitty, especially if they cash in on Holt.

Norwich have the upward momentum and finished in a far stronger position than Villa last season. Personally I think I'd have stayed put
Their squad isn't that bad, and not much money by Villa standards is probably still a much bigger budget than Norwich's. It's a far bigger job.

Would love to see Bennett go there too.

This.

I hope for a mass exodus and Norwich to plummet.

Wouldn't normally wish ill on a club who are not rivals, but there was poetic justice with Swindon after all their billy big bollocks, when we took Greer, and some Norwich fans, having taken our 2 best players, have also lorded it over us.

So if they now sink, i'll have no sympathy and will enjoy it.

Holt to Villa, make it happen

was crofts really one of your best players?

like us you should be thankful where you are now compared to a few years ago

you should have a problem with the players who want to leave you, not other clubs wanting your players

that's a compliment and always to be expected if you're doing well

don't quite understand the bitterness

I only want Bennett to go because I want him to do well, as I love him. I don't really care about Norwich despite their constant attempts to sign all our players.

Real shame the way this has ended, Lambert has done a superb job for Norwich, got them from League One to Prem and kept them there. He should have been allowed a more dignified exit.

Norwich have really f**ked up here. If as reported he had a clause in his contract allowing to at least speak to other Prem clubs interested, by refusing this they not only pissed him off enough to resign, but may also be in breach of contract. That technically would mean he's a free agent - and they lose out on compensation as well. Not smart.

Norwich signed two players from us, who both were moving up a division and who we received compensation for. While it was sad to lose two of our better players, this happens all the time in football. Why so bitter?

The price they paid for Bennett was hard to swallow. Not exactly Norwich City's fault that we let him go so cheaply, but it doesn't make it any easier to take. Daylight robbery.

lol not slagging poyet off, just don't think his style would suit our players at all

Do players play the way the manager wants or does the manager settle for how the current players play?

Now I might understand that you don't like the way Poyet has a team playing, that's your prerogative but are your players that poor that they can't adapt to how a new manager might want them playing? In the longer term, the players play the way the manager wants, not the other way round! :D

Anyway, I hope all other clubs don't want Poyet, more chance we'll keep him that way ;) :D

The transfer fee for Benno was very much undervalued , my guess is a gentleman's agreement was reached when Norwich first revealed they were interested in him.

poyet plays negative defensive football

norwich for the last 3 years have played positive attacking football

would be a big ask for the players to totally change their style

like brendan rogers going to stoke and wanting them to play like swansea

When you signed him from us, yes he was. I wasn't that impressed with him under Slade, but Gus made him captain as soon as he took over and he went from strength to strength, winning PoTS. Very solid box to box midfielder, who scored some crucial goals, whom I thought we still missed in our promotion season. Matt Sparrow was supposed to be his replacement and never quite fitted the bill (Sparrow is more suited to overlapping with a single forward IMO). When he joined you, there were rumours that he trebled his wages from £3,000 to £9,000 per week, though probably no-one on here knows if that is true.

Regarding Poyet, I'm not surprised you don't want him. If I remember right, when we played you in 2009-2010, you were a pretty direct side, hitting long balls up to Holt, like Southampton with Rickie Lambert. Okay, it worked (we let Holt dominate us at your place and that was how you won at Withdean) and we were still weak against high balls last season. To be fair, you were a more entertaining side last season, with the likes of Bennett and Pilkington putting quality balls in, but I still wouldn't call Norwich a "footballing" side in the way Swansea are.

yeah we're not a possession side like you and swansea, more direct but more attacking too

which is why poyet would suit swansea

that game we won at your place we were terrible

no idea how we won tbh but it was league 1 and gary doherty scored!

for most of that season we battered teams

Apparently Liverpool ave agreed not to buy swnsea players for a year. I suspect Norwich might have a similar agreement as part of the compensation.

i thought rogers denied that, maybe a gentleman's agreement tho

can't imagine lambert doing the same and he has a record of buying former players after walking out

rogers has made his move with a bit of class

shame lambert couldn't and kept feeding stuff to the media
