Going to be controversial here but was he really any good for us ?

Scored 3 goals in 95 appearances

Don’t remember many man of the match performances ?

Always injured ?

Rumoured to be 100k a week ?

His best contribution to BHAFC was not as a player but his excellent contribution managing/coaching the team with crofts between Potter and RDZ

Thoughts ?

In fact all I remember him for is his excellent contribution managing the team with crofts between Potter and RDZ

Yep waste of money. But talked a good game. Paid over 10 million pounds in his time here, mental.

Which imho handed the game to United ?
Nah bad tactics handed them the game, it was blindingly obvious United were much improved by in the second half but we carried on gung ho and left the defence exposed imo

Let’s face it, he’s not there to play football, is he? If he is, then Saints are in for LONG season.

I’m not sure if a pay as you play deal is allowed these days, but that’s what the Saints need on him.

Not the shrewdest signing of the season.

Would be amazed if he clocks up more than 10 hrs playing time for them.

I’d rather take a punt on 10 more wonderkids than Lallana or Milner type signings on stupid wages. Our model works, but this bit doesn’t.

I hope we move away from requiring 1/2 seasoned big name pros milking us for money whilst sitting on the bench injured. Keep legends like Pascal to help the younger kids.

Otherwise we’ll become a breeding ground for big waged players showing off down at Donatello’s and not buying the fixed price menu.

Think he was pretty good for us, all things considered.

He made decent contributions in all three years that he was here, which was better than I predicted when he first signed here as a 33 year old.

You're right in that he should have scored more goals, but he did change / dictate games on his good days.

Would be VERY surprised if the club was giving him £100k/week.

But I think just like all these veteran signings, it's more to do with the development of our younger players, and general dressing room atmosphere, which it certainly seemed like he was influential in that regard over his time here.

Not an Albion legend, but probably deserves a clap for his contributions over some of our most successful seasons when we next see him.

Not surprised people are having a go at him given where he’s now just gone but I thought he always added a touch of class to us on the pitch. The only times he looked out of depth was when he was given the job of pressing defenders at the end of matches when you could clearly see his pace was utterly gone - but stick him at 10 where his skills could do the talking he was very watchable indeed. For sure should have finished chances better but boy very few in squad you can’t say that about

Fine.

He’ll be earning a lot more than he would here as a player/coach under Hürzeler.

I’ve got feeling that the ‘veteran’ we get in to replace him will blow folks minds.

I will always appreciate Adam Lallana for what he has done at the club. His statistics might not be appealing (such as 3 goals in 95 appearances) but that shouldn't be the only factor he is scaled by. He has an incredible ability to effortlessly link play with his passing and clearly showed determination each match, through his constant pressing, even if he lacked the same pace as the others. That being said I would prefer future signings to have experience but some degree of youth rather than those reaching the end of their careers.

I am a big fan of Lallana, didn't score or create too many but his influence on the pitch was not measured in such. Kept the ball and moved it intelligently. Touch and intelligence was great and set up moves for others to get assists etc.

Love listening to him talking about football, look forward to listening to this podcast and hope he comes back to manage/coach soon.

Somewhat surprised I appear to be in a minority about this but football is so much about opinions
