The police interpret the law, and clearly interpret it much more strictly and stringently when the people blocking roads are 'Leftie' environmentalists, rather than Tory farmers.

As well as exemplifying two-tier policing, it also suggests political bias by the police - they'll arrest environmental protestors, but actually help farmers plan their protests.

The police are supposed to be politically impartial and enforce laws equally on everyone, but they evidently favour and protect some people more than others.
how many environmentalist have actually been arrested or tried for being in many, many regular protests, which are organised and in coordination with police? you refer to a few arrested for stopping and blocking the roads, which is an explict offense. what you claim as favouritism is not understanding the difference in law. some want to protest and stay in the law, some want to protest, go beyond law and be martyrs.

You just made that up didn’t you?! The only bias here is yours.

The Police enforce the law which allows for peaceful protest within certain parameters. This is applied to all protests whether pro Palestinian, EDF, JSO, farmers or poll tax and anti Iraq demos. However, step out of the law and the Police are obligated to take action. This is why some JSO protesters were arrested but in fact most are, quite rightly, not.

Or maybe you are against the right to protest unless the cause is ‘leftie’ or something you happen to agree with?

The lack of arrests of any farmers blocking roads, compared to the rounding-up of environmental protesters, must be a clear example of the 'two-tier policing' the Tories moan about!

Funny how hard-up farmers can keep taking time of work to protest in their shiny new tractors - or tanks.

f*** 'em.
f*** the farmers ?, true colours coming out.

Probably supports free speech until it’s something he doesn’t agree with

Call them what you want, merge them, delete them even. You seem very keen on them though including the equivalent Tory thread, but whatever you say comrade.
Nailed it there but he won’t admit it …and he won’t admit the same lot being on the other side of the argument …oh on the subject of threads a new one started on the tory leader…..perhaps one could be started on two tier..free gear etc Keir 😉

With respect, that's drivel.

Farmers have agreed a route with the Police - and as such are not breaking the law.

Of course, when JSO glue themselves to the road, and don't get arrested - but the person who removes them so they can go about their daily business does, I'd say that's an example of the two tier policing and political bias that you refer to.
