I think Romano only said Moder was having a medical at Leicester, so hadn't actually lied.

He said it was booked, now some journalists are saying that wasn’t the case as there was never a deal.

It is the fairly recent trend of leaking transfers on the Internet that makes these things seem so bad. I suspect this stuff always went on we just didn't hear about it until the cheesey photo was released by the club. We were all happier in those days...

Also we have been trying and often failing to sign players for years. VVD, Lukaku, Nunez, etc.
And you can add to that - we are hyper sensitive to any news and it gets amped up and discussed on NSC for weeks. But this is also happening at other clubs - all the time. We just don't see most of that, aren't as atuned to it so it FEELS like we're th eonly club where we persistently fail to get the players we were in for.
Some of these we were never in for. Some of these we were, but the deals feel through. It is the same for all ofher football clubs, always.

We are exceptional when we miss out on players. We are a very acomplished club when it comes to transfers.

Thing is Leicester probably need to sell him for £40m to avoid failing PSR rules.
That’s fine say if we value Moder at £20m and Moder would probably go.
For Chelsea, as their fringe players are paid so much it’s harder to do a swap, so Chelsea would have to stump up the full £40m. Sure they can do if they want but it’ll impact their budget for their mooted centre forward purchase.
I hope the whole thing goes south for Chelsea and Leicester and we move our sights elsewhere.
We get Wieffer and Gomez who want to play for us. Chelsea get egg on their face and Leicester get a points deduction.
Fingers crossed.

You've answered your own question: the market. So we bid on KDH, probably a lowball offer, we then get gazumped by the market. It's hardly a shock and yes, it's the "market"
Probably a lowball offer?

It is well known we don't pay inflated wages. Plus Maresca was KDH previous manager.

Overrated in my opinion, consistently lacked positional sense and decision making from what I saw. Saints took a massive risk by replacing a solid experinced DM in Romeu with the inexperienced Lavia. I feel this was a contributing factor to their relegation.

Yes Lavia has potential, but I don't think he was as good at Saints as people make out. Nathan Jones called him out at one stage if my memory serves me right.
Nathan Jones was an absolute car crash as their manager. He backtracked on what he said anyway

I didn't see him that much but he always looked good and their fans raved about him. The fact Klopp wanted him at Liverpool speaks volumes too.

Obviously you're entitled to your own opinion if you saw a lot more of him.

think all the posts saying ‘KDH can do one, he’ll regret going to chelsea and we can do better anyway’ are quite juvenile/bitter

fact is we could very well end up with another kudus situation, where we miss out on the player, the play actually goes on to do quite well at the bigger club, enjoys their higher wage , and we don’t sign whatever plan B option we had, and end up with another massive hole in the squad.

there’s no ‘it is what it is’ element about this. it’s very bad news that this has happened yet again (albeit in a slightly different fashion)

KDH has said no and we've retracted the offer. That's all there is to it ultimately. What he goes onto next isn't our concern, nor is his bank balance, nor how many splinters he has in his arse from the Chelsea bench.

A whole load more hand wringing about Chelsea won't change that. Let's go get Gomez and Wieffer, or someone else we haven't even heard of yet.

He can f*** off and enjoy being another serial Chelsea failure following in the footsteps of the other money grabbing lump Danny Drinkwater who chose money over career.

As for Chelsea what a weird bunch of stalkers and everything that is rotten and shit about the modern game as they squirm and twist around FFP spending billions on a squad that struggles to even compete for champions league spots. Imagine supporting that mess with all to the divs who follow them.

Now let’s look forward to some left field replacement signed from nowhere that leaves us wondering why we were ever shopping at Leicester before putting Chelsea to the sword next season with our new hyper slick and nutty young manager at the helm

Chelsea will just keep buying selling swapping players and managers until they get it right, and they will get it right because whatever you say money talks. It might take a while but you could see the improvements last season.
It is a whole different world from our approach.

shhhhhhh don’t tell Chelsea - its all a cunning plan to lure them onto KDH. Our real target will become known when he’s signed for them!

I guess it's that old adage: If you throw enough shit at the wall, eventually some of it will stick.

You need some stability and bedding-in to get it right. Still they should carry on as they are, as I hate Chelsea.
