His names Keith, of course he's going to be shit.
But seriously, quite happy with this, think he'll be a decent signing, but as Kev the Rev said, I think people are reacting negatively to this because he's not called Jose and from Barca b team.We all expect flair now and still awaiting an "Oscar" signing

Keith??

Last year's star loan signing - Wayne Bridge. This year's - Keith Andrews. You'll forgive me if I don't do somersaults.

I must have missed the part where anyone said he was this years star loan signing, where did you see that???...I did read that because of ffp we maybe making several loan signing though. What's the date???

Harley was highly rated when we signed him but it didn't work out. He may be superb this season for Swindon.

Keith Andrews has a bad season for Bolton but he is a GOOD FOOTBALLER.

...however it appears alot of our fans will only be happy with Wayne Bridge / Vicente type signings these days. They need to get a grip. Do you see?

He may well be and I will take your word for it. As I said, I haven't see him enough to make my own judgement. And I do completely understand your point. I was just trying to justify why people would be disappointed with this signing, which you couldn't seem to understand in your original post when you questioned fans that were.

If we sign an ex England player who's the best in his position in the whole division this time round I'll eat Ernest's winter coat.

That's a bit unfair, you can't really make that statement until we've finished signing players.

Keith Andrews is one of those non league nobody to premier league success stories. Very good dependable midfielder... a sort of poor man's Gerrard. I think he'll do well for us... my only concern is his age. Two years ago he would have been perfect.

For those still comparing him to Bridge, had we got bridge at this date last season? Theres still lots of time.

Yes but last season we started on 18 August. We'll have played 3 league games by then this time round. And we urgently need a full back, not a midfielder.

Shouldnt we reserve judgement until Maksimenko plays tomorrow that is assuming he will and Calderon at right back, although he could play Lopez at right back and Calderon a left but I hope not as we lose Lopez influence in midfield, albeit for 50 or 60 minutes until he gets tired.

That post illustrates exactly why we need a full back......

Yup problem solved at no cost. They will be training with the first team squad so should improve on their faults and defensive duties.

So let's be clear. Your solution to replacing Wayne Bridge is two young left backs with zero Championship experience and a 32 year old crock who was forced out by Jay Farking Spearing?

The hell has a central midfielder got to do with left back?

With Keny and Andrews, I fear it could be Liam's.

Nope.
Just completes our midfield for the season, barring injury.
One more attacking option (Tomlin?) and a left back. Possibly a right back too, with Bruno's problems.
