I like Jason but Ive been saying for months we should start our good goalkeeper in most games because letting in 2 or 3 per game is a bit of a problem. But Roberto said a year ago he is going to help Jason get to the national team and I thnk that dumb idea in combination with our manager being very proud and stubborn mean we will continue to rotate goalies until the end of the season. I hope Im wrong because everyone else understand Jason isnt going with the England team to Germany this summer. Honestly I feel all this is because Steele for Sanchez was the first Roberto decision that was met with some question mark and hes on a long and not very successful campaign to prove people wrong

I’m sick of your complaining
I've barely posted in the last month and can't remember the last time I wrote anything about our keeper (although I think I've been consistent on rotating keepers being a bad idea).

I've certainly never complained about Steele because I think he's a sound guy and has done well for us (and not just because of my massive and open pro-North East bias).

I was joking. You seldom seem to criticise RDZ’s decisions.

Interesting piece by ex England keeper Karen Bradsley on our keepers. Her take is that we perhaps rotate keepers to protect Bart, ease him in gently.

Brighton set a new Premier League record - but can rotating goalkeepers really work? - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68657908

That was an interesting read.

I can see the merit of rotating initially as any young keeper makes mistakes and the fans call for the safe experience keeper to come back in.

Bart or Jason offer very similar ability and I can see how coaching them on something and allowing Bart to watch Jason in matches has helped to develop specifics.

However I feel Bart is now ready and I hope he is our number 1 for many years to come

Is Bart ready or is Steele no longer Premier League ready?

I think Steele is comparable to several other goalkeepers playing in the Premier League.

I don't see anything different in Johnstone, Pope, Pickford...that would make them better options for England at the Euro's

Despite enjoying the frothing mouths on here, I don't have really have a problem with Steele.
Much like the article I don't see much difference between our 2 keepers - I can't help thinking the rotation record will only increase.
