The man the Turks call 'Kazim Kazim'.. Colin Kazim Richards.. came on as a sub tonight for Fenerbahce at CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.

I wonder if he was wishing he'd been at Dean Court?

Tosser.

Now there's a boy who keeps getting promoted to the level of his incompetence. From the Albion to a bit part at Sheffield United to a bit part at Fenerbahce. What a joke. Wonder if he's got the bottle to challenge for the ball in the air yet? Suspect not somehow.

Last game he played for The Albion was at Woodside Road for the reserves!!!!!
And a few weeks later he was starting away to Arsenal at the Emirates.

I'm sure he feels really gutted that he isn't still struggling to get in the team at the Withdean, I bet he sits up all night too afraid to sleep because of all the nightmares (what could have been?)

Didn't everyone that met him at SoL say he seemed like a really good kid with a good head on his shoulders?

Just because he wanted to leave us (who play at a shit ground with shit facilities) fopr a bigger club who were in the Premiership at the time people started to hate on him. now he's playing Champions league football alongside Roberto Carlos et al and people still need to put the boot in.

Bitterness at it's worst.

I don't really have a problem with him but calling it bitterness at it's worst is a bit strong. He clearly couldn't be f***ed to even try for us at the end. I actually think this had a lot to do withy MM's management of him but still, you wear the shirt you make sure you try.

Hmmm.... admittedly he mostly comes off the bench at Fener but he definately upset the Moscow defence last night and had one little run that was unfortunately let down by blasting over the bar. Personally I'm not keen on him but Fener fans have taken to him and think he's a great propect AND he hasn't had a tantrum yet.

Hmm. after two games tops of a Champion League after beating Inter... where would I prefer to be.. there or at Bramall lane?

Maybe I was a bit strong. Still think it's all a bit OTT though.

BTW where did all this Kazım Kazım thing come from? I was watching Turkish TV last night and they were definately calling him 'Colin Kazım'. Admittedly the Richards has been dropped......

Many players in Turkey have their nickname on their shirt as opposed to their full name.

CKR must have a bloody good agent to go from Bury to Champions League in just 3 years

Sorry mate, that's not the case. For historical and cultural reasons, Turks are generally recognised by their first names, not their surnames. So in Turkey Emre Belozoglu has Emre on the back of his shirt (as he does in England... natch!!!)

The problem become complicated when you had, for example, more than one Bulent in your team. That used to be solved by calling one Buyuk Bulent (Big Bulent) and the other Kucuk Bulent (Little Bulent), which would be B.Bulent and K.Bulent on the back of their shirt. However, what did you do if you had three Bulents in your team? That's when nicknames or surnames started appearing on the back of the shirts.

Hence, commentators say Colin Kazım (his first two names... NOT his surname) and put Kazım on the back of his shirt...as it's the more recognisable first name.
