Stephens has stepped up to the Premier League like a fish to water there is no question of him or Propper being replaced at the moment. Kayals best hope is when one of them gets tired and we need to freshen up or Gross gets tired and Propper is pushed forward late in a game especially with Brown gone.

That is because they are not permitted to get forward enough under CH game plan where the emphasis is on defending.

Erm, I agree with both posts.

FFS Kayal has scored 3 (three) goals and had 8 (eight) assists in 84 appearances for the Albion.

Anyone would think he hasn't played for a while!

As DarrenFreemansPerm says pinning not enough goals on Stephens and Propper is a freakin joke.
There's only one player in the entire 25 squad who has been responsible for his quota of goals and that's Ryan.

All of that stems from the manager insisting (rightly so, until such time as failure looms) on playing 2 centre backs and 2 'rush' centre backs.
The reason Kayal has never before been our goal scoring saviour is exactly the same reason why Propper and Stephens aren't know.

 our whole team doesn’t score enough, but sure, let’s hang these two out to dry

of course . But SB's point was it wasn't "broke" in an unequivocal question implying everything was well with them. Its not . They're great midfielders and a great pairing but Hughton and plenty of others have said they could contribute more in terms of goals and attacking threat (but so should our wingers/forwards) and on Kayal's performance last night it highlights how the midfield misses this threaded forward balls.

Bah SB. Expecting a goal or two from your midfield, they've scored zero in the league and they've played every minute, is not the same is "pinning" the whole thing on them is it ? They've had their chances.
Its a flaw in their season. Likewise the CB pairing. Plenty of chances. No goals. Doesn't say D and D aren't a great pairing and CH wouldn't break them up.

Even CH in his very polite way has said it several times this season and said about Stephens goal last night
"it is also a goal from a different area of the pitch, which we will need.""
