Baldock and Kayal scoring in a PL match would make my dream come true. Well, my non-porn dreams.

Mmmm, not sure , still think Propper is a bit casual on the Ball.

Haven’t seen why Propper cost us £10m yet, worries me when he is on or near the ball.

Fantastic game from Kayal, I’d forgotten just how good he could be.

We must be watching a different player, as in my opinion, Propper has been one of our better players this season.

Kayal was my motm last night and played very well at Chelsea, nice to see him back playing so well. It’s up to CH to try and accommodate him somewhere in the team if possible.

Really? I think Propper has been a great addition. I agree Kayal showed great form, but no reason to assume he is better or worse than Davy.

Love him! All four of our 'first team' CMs could play as one of the deeper pairing or pushed up. That's excellent and I'm sure the same could be said of Sidwell.

IF we sign one in the next month I'd have thought it will be a specialist, though I reckon there's absolutely nothing wrong with waiting till the summer. Suppose Brown is the current example of that though. Just hoping for the squad's sake that Sidwell is on track to feature at least on the bench later in the season covering injuries and fatigue.

IMO having Kayal back is not really a question of whether he is better/worse than Stephens or Propper more the fact that it potentially allows us to play 3 decent central midfield players in same team - yes I know that blows the 442 Holy Grail but it does offer us a decent plan b...

Say what? Propper is probaby our best player looking after the ball. Not sure what you are watching Pal. I would like to see him take a few more risks and move the ball forward a lot more than he does currently.

Kayal's passing gives us quicker transition of the ball than either Propper or Stephens. I'd like to see that used more especially at home. Also although Palace ressies weren't up to much having a quicker forward (Baldock) running in behind made us look so much better and we created four or five clear cut chances, when was the last time we did that?

On that showing Baldock has to be a better option from the bench than Hemed.

Apart from the result the best thing about last nights game was seeing Kayal and Baldock play so well.

Palace were a very obliging team, mind. Bloody shite for 70 minutes then ok for 20. We should have buried them.

Still Baldock and Kayal being back and playing well gives us some genuine options from the bench for the first time this season.

It's a game of opinions, not sure I care whether you believe me or not. I could easily have called your opinion on Kayal's performance tonight being "head and shoulders our best CM performance of the season" as utter garbage but I tried to be polite. Our manager seems to be on the same page as me though, unless you'd like to name me a single game Kayal has been preferred to Stephens since January 2015.

No I think your appraisal of Kayal as a lightweight player is utter garbage and completely at odds with your cliam that he is one of your favourite midfielders of recent years. You can one of those opinions and retain some intellectual credibility but not both at the same time, otherwise you are just bullshitting

He , according to Hughton's press conferences, is on track to appear or at least be considered for the next round of the cup.
Its been the worst injury of his career.

Kayal was player of the season in 2015-16, let's not forget. And when he gets the ball, his first instinct is to take it or pass it forward, unlike certain other players. Personally I think a fully-fit Kayal gives us more than Propper.

I think there is a case for Kayal to replace Propper as he tires. Maybe Kayal would have made a better effort at clearing from the penalty area v Bournemouth. Kayal has to do more than shine against a depleted Palace side in a cup competition to replace Propper in the starting line up. Propper and Stephens have been doing reasonably well all season considering the quality of opposition. I would guess that the £10 million paid for Propper is less than the going rate for a fit competitive Premiership midfielder these days.

Interesting code you have there. I think Stephens is fairly poor when closed down in this division and has very little skill driving forward. He is my favourite (current) player, so where does that put my credibility upon your assessment?

All of our players have limitations, else they wouldn't be playing for us. So your proviso that I can't critique the players I support up and down the country is utterly baffling.

You're having a laugh. Kayal is an attack minded midfielder and can drive us forward with the ball amongst other talents, but he is lightweight, often quite rash in the challenge and loses out on the second ball very often due to height/physicality. Kayal has never, and will never push Stephens for a starting place because they are different players, one of the reasons they always clicked so well together as a midfield partnership. As soon as Dale went off I said to my mate we'd lose our edge in midfield, which is exactly what happened.

I think you best ring up our manager with a convincing case on why you feel he has been erroneously playing Stephens and Propper, and often Norwood and Sidwell in the past, ahead of a superior in every aspect Kayal.

We've had better midfield performances by both Propper and Stephens when we've lost games. Palace were shit tonight. Kayal's passing is much better than Propper's? **** me, there seems to be little reason to play Davy at all.

He performed well in an FA Cup match against fairly poor opposition, a game where his partner managed to score but he conspired to miss the target from 10 yards with no pressure on the ball. Before I'm accused of having some kind of agenda against him, I'm glad he is back, the Stephens Kayal axis is my favourite partnership in all my time supporting the albion.

Are you having a laugh in suggesting that Kayal is lightweight? There is much else in this post that makes sense to me, but I'm just glad we've got a good range of CMs to perm three from four, and I wouldn't really rank one too highly above another, which might be a tad unfair on Gross.

Probably working!
Kayal Kayal, Beram Kayal,
He is the ki-ing of I-is-real.

Couldn’t get the chant going last night, but he deserves one.
And not The Tomer Hemed song with his name instead that was sung while he was warming up with Tomer against Bournemouth.
