Not been the same imho since the injury, although I felt he had a great game at Old Trafford, covered all sorts of grass.
For the monies being banded about, play hard, add a bit then cash in if there anything in it.

Yer as I said earlier its fairly likely arsenal or some such will come in anyway in the summer at 30 odd million. That would be more annoying. I would rather mitoma took the money and didn't go to some irritating top 6 club.
I’m 50/50 on this. Head says ‘sensible business at a figure around £90m’, heart says ‘no f***ing way!’

Anyone who thinks selling Mitoma (no matter what the price) now needs to give their heads a wobble. We have to start looking to keep at least one or two of our best players long term to really progress beyond bobbing up and down in midtable. Selling him mid-season would be stupid.
Players have all the power. If he wants to go he will just down tools like all the others. That's the grim truth.

Purely from a business point of view, how much do we make per season from Europe?
I f the club can get 90 million guaranteed for Mitoma, against 13 million to get to the final of the Europa League, not only not guaranteed, but, quite unlikely, business wise, it’s a no brainer.

Having said that, I don’t want us to sell, but, I do wish he’d start taking on the fullback and going to the line again.

Since the tighter PSR enforcement and points deductions were implemented the number of big transfer fees seems to be fewer.

Next summer there will be plenty of other top players available to clubs. I'm not sure we would have a better chance of getting a massive fee than now.
£80m or £90m in our pot keeps us in a very strong position to strengthen our squad with in-demand young players.

My gut feeling is that Tony will sell this window, but is using his expertise to squeeze the highest price possible (see Caicedo sale negotiations).

I'd rather him stay, but if an offer goes north of £75m it would be hard to justify him remaining if he wanted to leave.

I know he is a quality player, but sometimes I think it can be overstated.

If the offer is £90m for a 28 year old then the only thing I can see stopping that deal from happening is Karou himself refusing to go there. That would be £88m profit and at best I could see us getting £50m from a EPL club or Europe in a year or two unless he has a huge upturn in form. Yes it would be heartbreaking and yes not great if we want to look up but it could fund us getting some proper experience in in key positions and actually be for the greater good overall. If we take it and spunk it on a load of kids from Denmark that play as CAMS and Wingers however I'll be fuming.

So it comes down to does Karou want to push to be the best footballer he can be or take generational wealth that means his kids and grandkids and probably their kids will never have to work again.

His new deal was £80k a week
So he'll make about £12m over the contract and the taxman will take nearly half of it. If he goes to Saudi he'll probably triple that and keep it all. He's also not made much in his career only hitting the big time at 26! Tough decision tbh.
