Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi on their injury issues: "I'm not frustrated, this can happen in football. The situation has not changed from September until now. We work with enthusiasm and pride, and try to transform problems into opportunities. If you ask me what is the target, it is to compete. We don't worry, because tomorrow we fight to try to win the game."

Sounds just like Klopp!
Thank goodness for RDZ. Got me out of my slump already. Fantastic to see such a pragmatic but also positive attitude. Also Roberto is right these injuries are opportunities for other players.

I think Mitoma and Pedro are our best forward players. I’m not sure we have much of a chance of silverware without them. At least Pedro is back but those folk who have a Dublin booking might want to cancel asap.

Apart from the one we couldn't complete in time
Yes, we signed him after the window closed but all signs indicated he'd be loaned straight back out anyway. Even if we had signed him, that would have meant two places for:

Fati, Mitoma, Enciso, Adingra, Osman. We had enough, its just very unfortunate. The big problem was that we didn't sign a DM, injuries to the forwards are unfortunate.

Luck?

March, Hinshelwood, Mitoma now out for the season - But we've added Barco to train up, so everything's working out to plan.

If you say so..
Breaking news. Football squad suffers some injuries.

I've had a look historically and, get this, we have suffered AT LEAST one player injury EVERY SEASON in our history.

It's a staggering stat, I'm sure you'll agree. We just have no luck in this area. PANIC.

In a kind of 'if we can't have you. nobody can' way.
If you want to see it that way, be my guest, but my perspective isn't quite so f***ing miserable.

I just mean that Mitoma out injured for the rest of the season raises concerns for buying clubs who might then not be prepared to pay what Bloom would consider accepting. A Mitoma MoM performance in Dublin would have seen him gone for sure.

In case it wasn't clear enough from my post above (it was), I don't think this injury is a good thing, but I am trying to dredge up a positive spin from losing one of our best players for a couple of months (hopefully nothing more).

Unfortunate or a little naive?

Injuries at this stage of the season, especially when competing on three fronts are sadly inevitable.

Throw in the fact we had Mitoma & Adringra competing at international tournaments amidst that & Enciso returning from a really nasty injury, it seemed obvious that we'd likely need an extra body or two in the frontline for the run-in.
