Wonderful.

Mitoma out for the season, Hinshelwood out for the season, Gilmore 3 game ban. Didn't take long for the clubs lack of investment in January to backfire did it.
The investment we did make in January (Barco) has also just been described by RDZ as "not ready" to even feature vs Wolves in the cup.

Got a feeling Mitoma's played his last game for us.

And that makes me very sad.
If there's a positive to dredge up from this, it's that maybe this injury is beautifully timed to put off summer suitors and he'll still be with us next season (not a done deal he was gone anyway IMO)

In a kind of 'if we can't have you. nobody can' way.

Nightmare. That ONLY leaves us with

Enciso
Adingra
Welbeck
Fati
Lamptey
Buonanotte

who can play out wide. Can't believe we didn't buy more players.
Pedro also back in a few weeks, and with a little more time to learn our playing style Barco will be a wide option. Losing Mitoma is a big blow but we'll still have good options.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi on their injury issues: "I'm not frustrated, this can happen in football. The situation has not changed from September until now. We work with enthusiasm and pride, and try to transform problems into opportunities. If you ask me what is the target, it is to compete. We don't worry, because tomorrow we fight to try to win the game."

Sounds just like Klopp!

Indeed,

It's almost like the club buy enough players to cover injuries but not too many that you are left with loads just kicking their heels.

Just luck, I guess.

Why does FA Cup make any difference? Still a Prem quality team. We're not going to throw players in before coaches feel said player is ready. He's 19 and had a week of training.
Completely agree, Barco needs plenty of time to bed in. We knew that when we signed him as RDZ pointed out this afternoon.

I was furthering the point made by OP about our investment in January having zero short-term benefits in plugging gaps left by inevitable injuries.

Some of those can play out wide yes.

But of that list, it's really only Adingra who you would say is a specialist in that position and isn't needed to cover elsewhere and can vaguely do what Mitoma can do for us

They did try. Ibrahim Osman was meant to be a january signing. & likely to have been others we tried for.

Luck?

March, Hinshelwood, Mitoma now out for the season - But we've added Barco to train up, so everything's working out to plan.

If you say so..
