Would be really exciting to have him in the team, but the priorities are definitely a target man and left winger, IMHO... that said, if his wage demands are reasonable...

Sign him up!...

I'm still not sure we need a left winger - not as a priority anyway, as we've currently got Marney, Wilkinson Jones & Piercy - all of whom could do a job on left. The otyer option is to put say Piercy, Hammond or Oatway in the middle with Jolly Rodger on the left. I agree about a big target man though....

Kanchelskis seems to have a good goal scoring record at most of the clubs he has played at. Maybe he could be a good option as a third striker rather than playing in a more deeper midfield /winger position. If he still has the pace that he used to have at Everton and Man Utd I'm sure he would scare the hell out of most central defenders in our division!

I reckon Coppell will take him on on a short term contract if he fails to land the "big" striker we need before the start of the season as long as he is fit and within our wage limits.

My Scottish work colleague has told me that in the Michael Crick biog of Alex Ferguson there's a reference to Kanchelskis's links to the Russian mafia. I'm getting him to lend it to me so I can check it out.

I would love to see him sign for us as he would be a great asset with his experience, probably lost a bit of his electric pace with age, but PLEASE do not mention Piercey in the same sentence he might just be good enough for the reserves or possibly Woking or Crawley but like Geoff Pitcher nowhere near good enough for our first team. They both make Charlie look world class

Don't agree with that at all. Piercy will be class in Div 2. Now that he seems fitter than last year, I reckon he'll be a top player for us.

I'd not realised the bit about Kanchelskis living in Grinnie. I've never seen him.

we like it in East Grinstead, where we have lived for two and a half years. It's a nice place

I suppose when you've lived in Manchester and Liverpool, Grinstead does seem like a nice place

Is this THE Kanchelskis thread? The original one?

My goodness.

Maybe someone can find the ORIGINAL ringtone thread.

Then we can BURN them
