Stop giving personal experience views and stick to quoting the media that suits - that’s what most on here are doing! That’s 2 NSC posters in one afternoon who have had their lives seriously affected by these morons - but they still won’t listen as it’s not the FACTS they wish to hear. In everyday life in all sorts of different places and different people I have literally not heard anyone stick up for them. Everyone says what morons they are. Yet NSC seems to have dozens sticking up for them. It’s either hiding behind the keyboard syndrome or a really odd disproportionate % of people backing the criminals to what I’ve experienced in real life.

No disrespect intended Sheebo, & I have the utmost sympathy for anyone that’s been through the two scenarios described, I don’t think it’s about ‘winning’. I also think it’s about the bigger picture for climate activists, to their mind the attempting to halt the undoubted (if you’re a person of science) heating up, mass extinction and plunder of the planet, their means justify their hoped for ends.
Obviously there is a big range of people on here, with vastly different views, personally I think anyone getting off their arse and trying to change things for the better is worth listening to.
I’d also suggest that for example, looking at the floods in Zaragoza recently and the misery being caused right now tk millions because of fossil fuel companies and the climate crisis are also, personal experiences of misery and these are only increasing in volume and severity. Personally I don’t like to see anyone suffer, also, if you feel like it, take a look at the new protest laws passed, where you can be arrested if the police THINK you might be about to cause a disturbance. Anyhow, I’ve no axe to grind with any individual on here. I just feel the wrong people are being portrayed as the bad guys. All the best,

I only come on here to see videos of these idiots being man handled by people that they have Inconvenienced.
I was fined Luckily only £60 ( should have been at least £120 Possibly even £2,500 plus a further £500 and 6 points on my licence) by spending the night in a piss and shit smelling layby, because of these wa&£ers holding up the traffic. Yes i might be one of those worst polluters who drives a lorry for a living, im all for a peaceful protest but sorry not breaking the law by stopping traffic or vanderlising property. I saw the videos of these morons smashing up petrol pumps and even Trying to Puncture lorry tyres, if one of those tyres had blown, they would have been Seriously injured if not dead.
I bet none of them walk to these places or use public transport, no they Probably drive there wearing cloths that are oil based. A teacher i know was on a march in Brighton last year with her kids taken out of school during term time to demonstrate against global warming, the same teacher that had just come back from Disneyland Florida with her kids and had reboiked to go again because it was lovely.

I would support them if they glued themselfs to the gates if Downing Street or even there local MP, better still why not go to China or India and protest against them ,as those 2 countries cause more pollution than us.
This isnt a new thing when i was at school it was all about the hole in the ozone layer, dont hear about that now. Yes i am concerned about the future of not only this country but the world, hiwever im more Likely going to die in WW3, than i am to pollution. The damage is already done if i had Listen to Greta whatever her name is 6 years ago who said we would all die unt the next 5 years, have we been lucky for this last year.

In this last year i have lost my father, 3 friends, 2 by mental health, my mother has been Diagnosed with dementia, so i am living life like tommoriw i could die, been happy and yes i will be going away on holiday in a plane if that upsets the climate brigade then so be it but please dont waist peoples time by pissing the public off.

While that delay is unfortunate, and I have a lot of sympathy, I don’t think assaulting people doing it, is the sensible outcome to this. You want them to aim at politicians and that’s exactly the person they have focussed on in their last protest (George Osbourne).

You’ve said you’ve never met anyone who’s agreed with them, but I’ve met very few people who want to assault them. It’s about different circles, and who you associate with. In contrast most of my friends agree with them.

What happened to the world's ozone hole?

Back in the 1990s, the hole in the planet's ozone layer was a pressing global crisis – if we had ignored it, today there would be several.

Mate sensible discussion etc is fine. Again, I think there’s a line somewhere between the OTT scenarios some are posting and the non existent issues others suggest - not that I am an expert at all. I do think the point of this thread was about the way this lot are protesting and the misery they’re putting on innocent people though - and I deem that unacceptable. We’ve had 2 posters in one afternoon say how these ‘protestors’ have caused them utter misery in their personal lives - it’s simply not the right way to do it. Target parliament or whatever peacefully - don’t target heaping misery on civilians. It’s not working. It’s just many on here seem to be snivelling and basking in the glory of the ‘gammons getting annoyed’ - it’s the furthest from traditional ‘left wing’ peace and love you can get and it’s a constant trend on this thread. It reminds me of the smarter kid at school who arrogantly sneered at everyone else as they only thought they knew best. It’s not a nice trait to see.

At least there is good change coming in - it can’t be instantly done. Yes it’s probably a lot later then it should have been but still… can’t see what these protests will achieve apart form more divide in a nation with hard economic times…

Where’s the assault thing come from? And no I’m not talking friend circles (most of mine are level headed and not ‘far’ anything for what it’s worth - but prob of an age where they have life experience etc) - random work people, comments here and there from people you meet etc - I haven’t met one who agrees personally.

i think the protetors are extremely well versed in climate science, so they're are scared and to them their course of action is rational. as you say, you are not an expert at all, so you are not scared. therefore you can not understand their rationale. it's all about perspective

Disagree with that - think they hear the worst case and go with it. They are not scientists and pick and choose which scientists are right. Think they are more concerned with personal attention than the climate and many brainwash eachother to believe the worst case scenario which won’t happen. Opinions eh.

From what I understand the Earth is EXACTLY just the right distance from the sun to make it habitable for life.

The Earth is about 24k miles in diameter.

Taking the distance in straight line from the sun to the equator and sun to the poles is F all really, maybe 12k miles? And look at the difference in climate between those places.

It's insane.

The person who finds the cheap, pollution free, inert, easy to produce and use that is so versatile alternative will run the world.....

i dount they are well versed in the science, just the mantras. if they were into science they might be pushing more for tangible solutions, like carbon capture or alternative energy, rather than licences in the North Sea.

Well that’s my point, most of mine aren’t “far” anything, I’ve had plenty of work people, and random comments who support them. I just depends where you go and who you associate with. The assault comes from the fact there seem to be men who are launching milk cartons at women’s heads. Not saying you personally think there should be assaults, just there seems to be a lot of people saying they’d smash a middle aged woman’s face in.
