It’s a quandary, isn’t it?
If he is the Messiah, who takes us to a CL slot, and, maybe a trophy in the next 18 months, he’ll be gone to one of the rich 6 clubs or top European side.

If he is just average, and we end up a mid league PL club, he won’t have clubs that far above us coming for him.
So, for me, it’ll be either 18 months of glory, and then who knows what, or mediocrity for a longer period.

I’ll take the glory, I think.

Whisper it quietly, new guy has benefited hugely from RDZ screaming and yelling last January that he needed EPL-ready players. On some level the board acquiesed to his logical demands, even if they couldn't be seen to be doing so. Hence RDZ exit.

I don't think so, i just feel there is always room for improvement. I am uncomfortable with fans who will inflate someone so quickly and then deflate people so quickly.

I think he's already proven that he's a top class coach/manager.

I do think he has the advantage of having arguably our strongest squad in history, we have so much attacking quality and lots of options from the bench.

I think many of our manages in recent history would be doing well with this squad. Would be interesting to see what Poyet, Garcia, Potter or RDZ would do with this incredible squad.

Very much a fan. Professionally he seems very much the real deal. He’s an ambitious and smart manager who knows what he wants but is also open and keen to learn and/or adapt. As a person he seems very smart, cultured and friendly. Some of the press stories, comments from Barber and stuff I have read show him to be a really all round nice guy.

I really do think we’ve stuck gold this time.

He’s growing on me. I was really worried about him tactically over the first few games, as we seemed to pick up points almost by luck at times, but he’s clearly adapting to the needs of the league and showing an ability to adapt in game.

Yes, he’s got the best squad we’ve ever had and he’s had a ton of luck (not that that’s a bad thing), but he’s making the most of it so far.

Did you read it in an obscure publication as I don't recall that ever being written in any of the papers or Sports websites, let alone Twitter? I am not sure if it's even been mentioned on the radio or TV commentaries, interviews, reports or analysis of games yet.
I am surprised Sky, BBC, Guardian etc haven't picked up on that sooner.

We can dream of Champions League football without being seen as basketcases.

Please, not yet. I remember our first season in the championship and folk on here were getting excited about going straight into the PL. Thank goodness we didn't as we should have come straight back down and to wherever that led. Love the long game that TB has played so brilliantly, let's first get back into the Europa League and show what we can do with a deeper, fitter squad.

Interested to know what others think. For me, he looks like a serious upgrade (again!)

He is cerebral, like Potter, but seems to be a much faster learner than GP and with more passion.

His attacking style seems to be closer to RDZ, though with a much greater capacity to adapt depending on circumstances.

Above all, I can't believe he can do all this at his age. And he seems to have the respect of all the players, something not to be underestimated.

My only worry is that he'll get poached sooner rather than later.

We already know FH has a plan B (and a plan C), so that's already an upgrade on RDZ.

We'll find out how good FH really is later this season and next when teams start to figure out how to play against us. If FH can evolve his tacts quicker than those he's up against, we'll have a very, very special coach on our hands.

An incredible start but I'm not going to get overly excited. We haven't dominated games for large periods except for some of the games we've drawn against Wolves, Ipswich and Forest. Quite a few results could have gone the other way on another day. Although I'm not expecting to have the ball as much as we have in the past, I don't think we're restricting teams as well as we could be and could control games better.

Still very early doors though and looking forward to the progression. Exciting manager and players with a real opportunity to build on a great start.

What's the difference between sitting deep and playing on the counter, and being pinned back by the opposition?

Why is Verbruggen saving several chances including one on ones from Isak who has half the pitch free if we're sitting deep?

Don't get me wrong, Hurzeler has done amazing so far for a young new coach, but feel there's been a bit of an exaggeration on some of this 'flexibility'. We have a lot of players and options now. Bringing on Baleba last time out showed this.
