If I remember correctly I believe you were a 'traditional' conservative, and probably anti-Brexit, as were most 'traditional' supporters of all major parties. If you had got a sensible politician like Rory Stewart as leader, how many 10s of thousands wouldn't have died, we wouldn't have left the single market and we wouldn't have been where we are now,

It's nothing to do with political parties, it's simple common sense

I don’t think Rory Stewart’s time had come to be leader, but who knows, he, or someone akin to him may emerge further down the line and play a major part in politics in the future.
Yes, I was never a fan of Johnson, but regrettably, he has turned out to be far worse than I could have imagined and I am pretty sure that is the view of many others. He really only has an 80 seat majority thanks to Corbyn being Labour leader.
Let us hope that the country is never in a position again to have to choose between such unsuitable (that is the polite version) candidates to be PM.
I really don’t know what the COVID death toll would have been if Johnson had not been PM and it is impossible to say.

Journo's will be crawling all over the MPs Register of Interests now and I'm sure there is a lot more to come out... IDS now appearing to have earned some cash in a clear Conflict of Interest regarding sales of hand-wash to the NHS.

The whole rotten house of cards could come down as more and more examples appear.... Especially Johnson's redecoration costs and who paid for them..

I’m not sure they do highlights of Question Time but the take down of Johnson last night was astonishing. There seemed to be only one man in the room willing to back Johnson…..and it wasn’t his boss from the Times.

The PM was ripped apart. It was a blood bath led by a quite brilliant tirade or two from Alistair Campbell. All focused on Johnson being unfit to be PM because of self interest, sleaze and incompetence. Statements like ‘he is not a nice person’ hit the bullseye as the audience cheered in agreement. What a massacre and what a reminder to those who voted this ***t in what a life changing mistake they made.

The poor weasel faced Tory Whip Lee Rowley just looked stunned and beaten most of the time, he could not fashion an argument to defend the man who’d asked him to fly kamikaze into this programme.

In Hartlepool, clearly the audience was packed with regular labour voters and voters who recently voted Tory allowing the seat to turn blue………this sample audience would suggest those Tory voters will be reverting to red next time.

Well I think it's just too easy to be cheaply cynical. Indeed I'd go as far to say that we've got the best politicians that money can buy.

I don't think its an issue of pay but the types of people that become politicians, usually public school over privileged elites who live in a different world. Success to them is more about how much they can milk the system then making a better society. Alot of Tories are already millionaires like Rishi Sunak, he doesn't even need his salary
