On the A Levels, is there any reason why students couldn’t have taken exams?

You have to sit away from each other so the social distancing is there - looks like some other countries ran them?

the schools were closed, no staff available to run them.

could the schools have opened for exams, possibly, would need to have had teacher agreement. im sure that would have been forthcoming, at the time decision had to be made (april) everyone was more concerned with stopping spread than holding exams.

Just seems we are backwards and late with everything.

What's that got to do with illegal entry into the UK

Well, if all lives matter then surely the life of someone coming into this country is important.

I didn't think i'd have to explain this to someone purporting to be an adult.

You don't have to explain anything, look no further than the country they left and the country's they travelled through, we're not a dumping ground

Of course it should be pointed out for the benefit of the tape that the legal route to asylum allows you to arrive however you want, whether that's on a private jet or on a dinghy washing up in Dungeness.

But since when did facts matter anymore...

Well to piss on your parade Govenment legislation is in place and a bit lateral agreement with France to stop illegal entry in to the UK, no sane person wants criminal activity breaking into our border come the approved route with your ID
