And you do realise that when the UK Government change the rules on how they count it again, to reduce it by a further 5,000 or 10,000 (like when they only counted hospital deaths for the first few months), the total number of excess deaths as a result of the Pandemic in the UK will still remain at >62,000 and will remain the worst in Europe. It isn't 5,000 less that have died FFS

Seeing as the results of A levels and GCSE’s haven’t been announced yet how do you know they have cocked it up, I bet you’re hoping it’s a shit shower aren’t you, you sick ****, I have a daughter who’s relying on these results and she’s pleased with what’s been announced today.

Firstly I hope your daughter has attained (or exceeded) her hoped for grades. I further hope that all the cohort affected a beneficiaries of whatever engineered solution emerges from the government. (Personally, I think I'd have gone down the Scottish route and trusted the teachers, but I realise that all solutions are sub-optimal.) They have had a really rough time of it and I think it must be very hard for them and their families. (It's these kids, their families and their teachers who are the most articulate critics of the way the govt has handled this matter.If you read my post carefully I actually wrote 'let's wait and see'.

Hence I do take exception to the likes of you calling the likes of me a 'sick ****', and Baker lite's use of the term '5th columnists' to people who take a principled line of opposition to the activities and track record of the current government. The implication that we want to see our fellow citizens die in droves (or their children are disappointed by their results) is extraordinary, offensive and inaccurate.

With highs of 33° expected AGAIN today, it's time to ask "could the government have done more?" Downing Street knew about this heatwave weeks ago and have done nothing. Shipments of 400,000 pairs of Speedos and 500,000 bikinis, sun cream and Cornettos have reportedly been sent back as unsafe after media claims the shipment was quarantined a month ago and Boris did nothing.

Karen from Chavington said, "We just don't know if it's safe to go outside and sunbathe because we can't function or think for ourselves. Boris hasn't told us either way and all my obese kids need ice cream and sweets, the Hubby can't get out to rob anyone so we're out of lager and weed, I blame the government entirely"

Meanwhile, anti- heat protesters dressed in thick jumpers chanting "cold lives matter" have marched on London, Big Ben has been removed and a giant Mint Feast put in its place by protesters.

The BBC reported earlier, 'clearly the sun has come out and Downing street have done nothing to prevent it.'

A second heat Wave is expected to hit the UK in 4 weeks time .




This made me chuckle, however I am easily pleased.

As you are clearly a man who likes to do some research and read around on the key issues, I thought I'd support this by sending you this link, which as you'll see gives a good overview of the term '5th Columnists', which you deploy with some gusto, if not precision. You will note, I hope, that it was apparently first used with his approval by the Spanish dictator-to-be Franco i.e. in simple terms a Fascist who rather liked the idea. I couldn't possibly draw any historical parallels to your own good self.
It has since been used in a variety of contexts involving various conflicts, some of which are fictional. I don't think any of these contexts approximate to the position of folk who are simply critical of their own governments. Indeed, given that most uses imply treason in various degrees, I'm not so sure it is prudent, fair or reasonable to bandy it around with such abandon. However, I'm sure your own deployment is down to your legendary sense of humour. which perhaps is not best showcased by the mean-spirited and plain unfunny piece above, more than genuine malice.

Spot-on. I checked my diary: the last time I laughed was when we had a Labour government and I've not even smiled since Brexit. As for 'fun', I don't even know the meaning of the word.
