Little bit bizarre trying to use that by-election result to bash the opposition IMO.

What I find odd is those who revel in having a weak opposition to the point where they cheer government ineptitude and a failing democracy

This party business at No 10 is getting really quite interesting , It seems no one from government was at the party ? When pushed they all say that the rules were followed, when asked they all say " Well I wasn't at the party but the rules were all followed " so we have an amazing scenario where those that did not go to the party seem to be far more knowledgeable about the event than those that went ?

Fortunately the Met Police have now morphed in to operating as in Tom Cruise's Minority Report and do not investigate potential crimes retrospectively, they rather tackle crimes that are yet to be committed.. Johnson should really start worrying now I think.

So, if stopped by the police for speeding from now on you can say to the officer " ah, but I'm not speeding now that you have stopped me ! "

I don't think I have ever been this angry about my own government, Thatcher was horrible but even she didn't treat the electorate with the contempt that Johnson does.

I have to stop reading the news/switch radio off sometimes because every day is another tale of piss boiling corruption and lies.

I will dance in the street when they finally get ousted. It’s too much to hope that they’ll ever have to answer for their alleged law breaking, lies and corruption. But they need to leave the corridors of power. I’m just very concerned that the changes and laws they have made since being in power are designed to make sure they and their ilk remain in power for a very, very long time to come.

I sadly think that the smokescreen created by Covid has been cynically exploited by the Tories, lots of their pals have been paid huge sums to supply PPE and services without scrutiny or overview and have grown incredibly rich extremely quickly. I fully expect these "pals" to repay their debt to the Tories by pushing huge donations to Tory party funds to fight the next few elections, no doubt they will be further rewarded with a peerage ! This will happen in plain view and thanks to the right wing press and supine other media, they will get away with it yet again !
