Would you be able to take a loan out? Say 100k? And then give it to me, I want some new stuff[emoji1303]
Disaster relief only.
Charity begins at home.

As an ex-serviceman I would have thought you’d be supportive of funding that prevents our armed forces being sent to places to get killed.
Foreign aid helps stabilise regions and prevents war.
But I guess the pull of being anti-foreigner is stronger for you than the will to think things through.

Interesting. and totally predictable, that 2 of our resident intellectual giants and world class ethicists deploy the old 'charity begin at home' saying. Of course, what they really mean (if I can try and lock-in on their wavelength) is that charity ends at home.

The thing is it would be a more understandable argument if the Government did help the poor people at home. As said up thread, this is a Government which decided to try and get away with not feeding poor kids during a pandemic.

Well quite. Fear not, this government will eventually get around to making cuts in a sector that does affect them. Not that they’ll object. By this point they’re so brainwashed that if Priti Patel told them dogshit tasted like vanilla ice cream they’d order a double cone.

Point of order, it’s a parents responsibility to feed their children.
An extra 20 quid was given in universal credit, if the parents choose to spend that on shellac nails instead of turkey twizzlers... how is that that the taxpayers fault.

Or indeed, how is it the child’s fault?

Not one for thinking things through, are you.

Point of order; nobody is saying it’s the taxpayers fault. We have quite explicitly laid the blame at the door of No.10
Do keep up Mr.Lite.

Incredible hearing Johnson this morning spouting shite about levelling up / northern powerhouse 2.0, does anyone believe him? You're think it was Labour that has been in charge for the last 11 years....

8% GDP growth in 11 years, soaring national debt, 9/10 of the poorest areas in northern Europe, what next?

And still people are demanding that we borrow more money to give to the Indian space program and Chinese re-education camps.[emoji2371]

As West Durrington's favourite train driver reminds everyone on a regular basis, he has most people outside his little echo chamber on ignore. But if someone could quote this post, I'd like to think that he may be a little better informed going forward, even if still somewhat cerebrally challenged.

Britain haven't given aid to India for years, you Moron :lolol:

Thanks for the quote. Nice edit to add 'Covid related', because that was what was being discussed . But as I'm sure you know what your Government said in 2018

UK aid to India: UK no longer gives money to Indian government

The Sun reported in its Boxing Day edition that the UK government plans to provide £98 million in aid to India over a two-year period even though it is expected to become the world’s third biggest economy by 2030.

The UK no longer gives any money to the Government of India.

More than half of the projected £98 million will be invested in Indian enterprises, while the rest funds technical expertise. Together these help develop new markets, whist creating jobs for some of India’s poorest and marginalised people. At the same time, this will also help create jobs for UK businesses, and generate a return for the UK. This is a win for the UK and a win for India. India is fast emerging as a global power and it is becoming increasingly important for the UK’s economic, security and geopolitical interests to be their partner.

I only see his posts when someone else quotes him, I think he’s somewhat in love with Me, he’s convinced he knows where I live....should I be worried [emoji2371]

If you had him on ignore, you’d know that you do not see the quoted posts of the people you have on ignore. You have to tap to reveal them. So you either don’t have him on ignore or you tap to reveal his quoted posts.
Either way, you’ve been caught in a lie.
Oops.
