I suppose the positive spin is that Britain still has some credibility left....

Priti Patel, like the rest of the government, really is out of step with the rest of the Western world.

The ridiculous thing being that the Dublin Regulation allowed us to return asylum seekers to the country they first registered. And we threw it away when we left the EU. You couldn’t write this shit. And indeed, why would you!

Six weeks after the home secretary, Priti Patel, unveiled a sweeping immigration overhaul that included deporting migrants who enter the UK illegally to safe countries such as “France and other EU countries”, sources have said the Home Office has been unable to persuade any European state to sign up to the scheme.

Sorry Priti, not being able to deport asylum seekers is the will of the people

Certainly in places like Hartlepool, Reform UK reduced to 1.2%. He ticks most of the boxes

Remember how companies have been promised close to zero import duties by setting up in Bojo's 8 new freeports?

Slight problem there are clauses in post-Brexit free trade agreements (FTAs) with 23 countries which effectively negate those benefits

https://www.ft.com/content/625d1913-9242-4d97-9d0b-9cd6925c4e0e

Its almost like the FTA was hurried through without anyone reading it first

How long did we have for scrutiny again?

But for once, I don't think there is even a hint of cronyism.

This is simple pure incompetence on a level that you would struggle to make up. As Rishi is setting up the freeports, Liz is signing the clauses forbidding them :shootself

Point of order: Freeports have nothing to do with Brexit or the EU as the UK operated them from 1980's to 2012 in the EU at which time the conservative government decided not to renew the licences. So it appears that these 23 countries could have benefited from freeports if we hadn't voted to Brexit :dunce:

Change the system, change the boundaries, change the ID rules, meddle with the press, meddle with the judiciary...
They are going to need every edge they can get come the time of the next major elections. Johnson cannot deliver the promises he has made to " Level Up " as there isn't enough money to pay for it all in our diminished economy.

In 18 months - two years time the vaccine rollout will be forgotten and the economic bounce back from Covid 19 lockdowns will have run out of steam...and how many more scandals will Johnson find himself at the centre of over that time? Eventually the lies, will catch up with him.

They are abusing executive power in every way possible, the non-dom press barons are in on it, a large section of the public are gaslit

The Tories have abandoned the cities and abandoned a generation of young people, sooner or later it will bite them on the arse.

Yep. As we've said before; It's unsustainable. Gloaters beware, history is not kind to tyrants.

If only we had a credible opposition [emoji1651]

That’s not the get out of jail free card Boris and his collaborators are banking on. As I say, the whole situation is unsustainable.

Only when there is a credible opposition, please address that ASAP.

There will come a time when even the cry for better opposition won't be enough of a life support for Johnson and his collaborators. Deflection and blame shifting only get you so far. And for his many faults, even Starmer is a more credible choice to run the country than Johnson.
