tip top and Bulldog you've nothing to reproach yourselves for.

I do disagree with Bulldog on one thing though, it IS possible to steer your offspring towards a particular club.

I see where your coming from but apart from the fact he just adopted Chelsea from the minute he knew what a football was, He was born at the wrong time for me to have my heart in trying to convert him to the Albion.

He was born in 1992 and like a lot of kids born around that time by the time he took an interest in football the Albion were in the process of losing the Goldstone, So that was hardly the sort of atmosphere to start him off in football supporting. Then of course after that we had 2 depressing years at pikeyland followed by a return to brighton at that Shithole called withdean where tickets were hard to come by for a number of years.

I'm sure once Falmer is built kids of his age and younger will develope more of an interest in the Albion but in the meantime it's hard to compete with the big clubs.

I have access to free chelsea tickets for any home game,I live a few hundred yards from the stadium and I still hardly ever go to games. Just can't get excited about a team I don't support.

Ill have them off you anytime mate

Even more hooters.........great
I quite like the hooters. They give the illusion that you're in Germany and that there's good bars serving Paulaner at Withdean.

I think we face a future of blokes behind us patronising the Albion and saying they only watch the odd game to keep Dad happy and it isn't proper football really. NSC will be full of posts about how Withdean was better than the new stadium as the fans were more passionate there.

I can't blame the fathers as my female offspring have no interest in football. Brighton fans are an endangered species.

So Falmer will be packed with people who don't really support Brighton. That's going to make for a pulsating atmosphere isn't it?

No idea, Maybe someone who was at the Millennium Stadium for the play off final can give us the answer to that one?

That, my friend, is a quality response.

Just to actually link the two themes together; when I was a boy I supported Chelsea first and Brighton second. (when I was REALLY young I supported Chelsea and Palace as I come from the Croydon area, but we'll draw a veil over that). I used to go to the Goldstone and cheer for Brighton (unless they were playing a London side) but for 'proper' football I'd go to Stamford Bridge. I didn't feel I was being disloyal to either team as they appeared to me to be in two totally different worlds. Eventually over time I became a 100% Brighton fan, so yes, I too hope Falmer is filled with people who are not 100% Brighton.

TBH about 30% of the games I watched was as a neutral. Then came the Stanley/Archer asset strip and all seater stadia prices. I would pay £20 plus to watch BHA but refused to be so generous to other clubs and the Albion needed the support more than the others.

Lets hope that there is a really good crowd and a complete barrage of hooters tomorrow night. I'd love to win back missing fans and people who haven't been since Cardiff.
