Left work early, got to Bristol and parked in a street round the corner from the ground, hot footed it up the street only to be told it was called off :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: Who can I complain to?? It really wasn't that bad. Just think the ref didn't fancy it

Had there been any mention of a pitch inspection? Me and my brother got there about 6ish and spoke to a steward, A woman at a ticket window and a few people in the supporters club and nobody mentioned the game was in doubt. It was only when we left the bar to go and buy our tickets that we heard an announcement that the game had been called off which took us both by surprise.

Might have been me - we got to the Anchor after hearing game was off. Have to say, I'm not one for moaning about cancelled games - but tonight was a f***ing joke. Apparently it hasn't rained in Bristol all week, so it was one day of (admittedly heavy) rain that got the game cancelled - where do they think they are? The Costa Del Sol? Even got into the ground and it looked wet, but we could have given it a game!

Oh well! Just got back, by the way!

EDIT: To add insult to injury:
a) bought a programme in the pub for something to read whilst waiting for kick off!
b) got to the ground to see the team coach JUST rolling away from the ground. A poor evening could have been redeemed by acknowledgement from the players - but we were given none as we stood there soaked through waving!

They were probably just as pissed off as you. And if they had smiled and waved you might have thought they were taking the piss from their nice warm coach.

"White felt conditions at the Memorial Ground were suitable for play to go ahead, but referee Kevin Friend decided that with heavy rain forecast all evening, the playing surface was only going to deteriorate further." - From the official site. Which bloody weather forecast were they looking at?!

to be fair - working in Bristol and living in somerset the weather forecast was absolutely atrocious and I can fully understand why he took the decision.

Yeah I wasn't really being serious - I meant to put a smiley at the end of it! It was just cruelly coincedental timing arriving at the ground knowing the match had been postponed and seeing your team bus rolling out of the car park!

The game last night may have been postponed for commercial reasons , did the referee take into account what the state of the pitch would be like on Saturday when Brizzle entertain Leeds which is a sellout ?

I Blame Michael Fish. Seriously though , if the ref deemed it to be unplayable then that's that, regardless what anyone says. Unfortunately the weather is something we cannot control. I feel sorry for all the fans that made their way to Brizzle last night.
