Left work early, got to Bristol and parked in a street round the corner from the ground, hot footed it up the street only to be told it was called off :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: Who can I complain to?? It really wasn't that bad.

It really WAS that bad.

it stopped raining at 7.30...joke,wasnt even that bad...QUOTE]

Yes it was

Might have been me - we got to the Anchor after hearing game was off. Have to say, I'm not one for moaning about cancelled games - but tonight was a f***ing joke.

No

"White felt conditions at the Memorial Ground were suitable for play to go ahead, but referee Kevin Friend decided that with heavy rain forecast all evening, the playing surface was only going to deteriorate further." - From the official site. Which bloody weather forecast were they looking at?!

White is wrong.

by the time i got home (7.30) the rain had all but stopped. bit of a shambles really. they could of played it.

Game would never have been finished.

The game last night may have been postponed for commercial reasons , did the referee take into account what the state of the pitch would be like on Saturday when Brizzle entertain Leeds which is a sellout ?

Absolutely not. Rovers were desperate to play it, as they thought they would hammer us. I was working at the ground for the two hours before the game, and a ridiculuos amount of rain fell. There were large areas of standing water in both penalty areas by 6pm, and the rain showed no signs of letting up.

Despite that, they were keen to try if possible. I was stood with the stadium manager when the decision was made and can promise you they were NOT pleased.

That is all.

Agree with you, if the ref said the pitch is unplayable then that's that. What I think is the joke is that the Memorial Stadium pitch can become so unplayable after one day's rain. I know it was heavy, but so was the Millwall game (and countless games before it at Withdean) and we got through that.

Still, you can't do anything other than laugh about it. It's a pain in the arse but all part of being a football fan - all good stories to tell in a pub to a plastic Chelsea twat!

Our pitch hasn't generally had a Premiership rugby match played on it 48hrs earlier, as Rovers' did on Sunday...

A went with a few Brighton fans on to the pitch at 7.45pm, there was no standing water on the pitch whatsoever, it had stopped raining, and after our trek to the centre circle and back, our trainers and jeans were not muddy in the slightest.

The only standing water was behing the goal furthest from the away end, and a bit by the dug out.

It could have started, I dont know if it kept raining, if it didnt, it would have been playable.

There was the mental hail storm about 6.15, but that only lasted 10mins and the locals were very surprised it was off as it hadnt rained all week
