Yes but before he got injured we were just outside the bottom 3, Charlie got injured and we lost a lot of fight in the team and slipped into the bottom 3 and got relegated without a real fight. With Charlie on the pitch we might still have gone down but I am sure he would have made sure we put up a real fight.

If people really think that Charlie Oatway is the answer, we're doomed already.

Things that leapt out of the game today:

Bas Savage & Nathan Elder – neither very effective. NE scored one with a tap-in from a Jakey drive from the wing but missed two free headers from close range. Bas kept in the pocket of the Worthing Number 3 who could do a job. In fact he could do Kerry Mayo’s job…

Paul Reid and Charlie Oatway – both looked like they’d never been away. Reidy resumed his attacking midfielder role, went forward really well, and Charlie looked comfortable further back. Good to see them both returned to the fray.

Wes Fogden – for a little runt he throws himself whole-heartedly into challenges. Brave lad after his horrendous back problems. A GENUINE one for the future (as opposed to McGhee style ‘One For The Future’ arse-covering exercise whenever he signed a patently crap player)

Jakey – Effective winger, looked to be getting a lot more stuck in than of late. Think we’ll be seeing him on the wing from here on in.

Nicky Forster – yup, impressed, the first genuine contender for an Albion player capable of mixing it in the box since Leon Knight ( he’s alright  ). His winning goal in the last minute should have gone in before it got anywhere near him – (Revell?) very poorly not attempting the obvious chip on the keeper on a one-on-one. Assist by Joe Gatting who looks to have lost a bit of lard and gained a modicum of pace.

Guy Butters – has lost a tankload of weight. Is the missus feeding him OK?

Sam Rents – ill-advised early Blackadderish barnet

Scott Chamberlain – TREMENDOUS suntan

Adam El-Abd’s mum – award-winning registration number E1 ABD

Other than that, not a lot else to report other than 90% of the travelling Albion fans missed the Worthing goal early in the second half, being otherwise engaged drinking cold beer in the hot beer garden.

Oh, and I say again, sign up Worthing’s Number 3

One other point about Jakey, why doesn't Deano try him on the right? He has always looked good on the right when he's moved there during matches and its certainly his more natural side, this would also allow coxy to switch back to his preferred left sided position.

Charlie could start every game and get a hat trick in every game and there will still be people who say he isn't good enough.
He looked sharp today and wasn't holding back in any of the tackles. He put through some good creative balls. It was a delight to hear him shouting 'Wake up Kerry Mayo'!!

I'm not saying he's going to start every game but he hasn't lost any ability through that dreadful injury.

Good report Tom Hark apart from the comments about Gatts and Butts who are as trim as they ever were but you seem to think have lost weight. :lolol::lolol::lolol:
