He's an odd one for me. In my mind he has a selfish streak that I don't like, but is also a good player.

I don’t think that’s true.

Enciso has scored two wonder goals for us in two seasons, and not really done that much else. He went against Bloom and insisted on playing in the Olympics, came back injured and has done nothing much since. I don’t think he’s shown anywhere near the development or maturity that Buenonotte, for example, has. It’s a huge season for him this season.
Bit harsh he was phenomenal against wolves home in the 6-1 and away when we stuffed them. When he was firing he was unplayable. But since coming back from injury has been sadly abysmal.

That's too strong a description. But yes he's not firing yet

Took the words out of my mouth. Wolves away at the start of last season was one of the best individual performances from an Albion player last year. He was unplayable.

Brighton factually.....
I don't think he was all that bad today. Just not good.
Worked hard, accomplished little. As usual.
I actually thought he would get subbed around the 70 minute mark and when he was not taken off, I thought he relaxed and improved in those last twenty minutes. Those asking themselves if they are not sure if he will make it or not....
hang on, yes he already has made it, he needs to relax, lift his head before he plays the ball out and his game will improve.
There is a very, very good player in there, lets not get on his back, this is a new system with new players and he is very very young.

He’s probably going to suffer some dips in form and confidence then.

He is desperate to be a starter but is making some wrong decisions. A goal or two will cure this I suspect but he’ll need to do it after coming on from the subs bench.
He looks like he’s trying too hard. Definitely has the talent (we’ve already seen it) so he’ll be alright. Games like last night are perfect- coaches will be sitting down with him today with a ton of video clips.

Exactly my thoughts too. He’s desperate to make an impact so is overplaying it and trying too hard rather than just playing his natural game. His confidence is probably a bit low at the moment too.

Some sensible comments being made here.

We’re a club who brings promising young players through. We all need to brace for a few ups and downs

If you find yourself tempted to have a pop at Enciso after he does have a quieter game, run this question as a thought experiment ...... "Which 20 year old forward has ever performed consistently well at PL level?"

Because I don’t have many. Cristiano Ronaldo? No. hit and miss at that age. Salah? Reserve player. Kane? Playing division 4 I think

When you’re having a pop at Enciso, you’re in effect saying, “I’m not satisfied, that he is below Foden, Rooney or Bellingham in his development curve” Which would kind of make you an entitled twat

West Ham allegedly said to be bidding £35 m. in January window
Given the depth that we have in his positions and the amount of game time he's getting at the moment to build value, that might be worth a second thought.

£40m+ with a chunky sell on might do it.

What it comes down to is, will he get enough game time to realise his potential with us?

Nowhere near as good as he thinks he is, hence why he isn't in the squad. This kind of attention-seeing shit is no surprise from someone with his attitude.

Size of that ego when all he has achieved is a couple of good goals.
