Omg. What a player. What a man. Genuinely gutted to hear this news. He had, I believe, nephrotic syndrome. A disease which is serious, but rarely fatal, if contracted in childhood - my daughter and I both had it; but a disease which can be devastating if contracted in adulthood.
Same age as me, he said recently in an interview that he'd like to live to see his boys turn 21, his boys are just 6 and 5 (my boys are 5 and nearly 3) really rams it home for me.
Can remember him just ripping England apart in the 1995 World Cup, wingers just weren't meant to be that big and still be that fast. What a player.
Not a lover of Rugby but always switched on when this geezer was involved
Took the sport to a different level with his bulldozing
The Underwood brothers were like ants in his path
Apparently he was a gent too
Really sad news and what a fantastic player and role model he was...Certainly best rugby player I've ever seen and probably will see.
RIP to a true gentlemen and legend
