Such sad news, a true legend of the game in every sense.
I've actually had the pleasure of meeting the great man socially, and he is very down to earth and absolutely loved anything to do with rugby. RIP Jonah.

RIP Jonah.
I always felt bad for Mike Catt but it showed how Lomu was just a different breed.

Being YOUNGISH I haven't experienced that many childhood/genuine heroes passing.

This one REALLY hurts. As a 10 year old, watching him destroy teams, then going out and demanding my parents buy the video game with his name on, HE was rugby for me.

RIP.

Had the privilege of watching Lomu play at Twickenham in 1997.

Fantastic match - a 26-26 draw after England had been 23-9 up at halftime.

The only way England were going to stop Lomu was aiming high and trying to dislodge the ball for a knock-on rather than attempting to tackle him.

With international backs and wingers growing in size since then, we'll never see a physical mismatch like that again in our lifetime.

He was unique.

Shocking.

He was an incredible athlete. I'm not a rugby fan at all but even I was in awe of him as a player. He made that 1995 world cup interesting for me like no other rugby player has done since.

By all accounts a thoroughly decent bloke as well. RIP.

THAT match in 1995, when he bulldozed our backs will forever be in the memory.

Shame his illness got the better of him in the end. A tragic loss of a great ambassador.
