not many people did though mate. a few months ago he was a threat to national unity, now after two draws he is the only thing that can possibly save us.

no wonder they go to pieces when they know the sort of bullshit that goes on at home at every tournament. win at a canter on wednesday and they will be f***ing lionghearts again.

we are all complicit in our collective failure to certain degrees. sure the players need to shoulder the blame but its the fans and press that tell them they are gods gift the other 11 months of the year.

why is John Terry speaking on behalf of the player surely thats what Gerrard should be doing ?

if you can listen to gerrards staggering insincerity and bullshit without self harming in front of the telly mate then good luck to you. anything that keeps the self pitying ramplings of that micro-foreheaded C UNT out of my earholes is a blessing.

Post #4 should answer your question. No big conspiracy just Terry's turn

I don't want that dumb-arse back as captain. He's trying to rebuild his public image after bringing disorder to the sport with his philandering and attempt to continue to keep it quiet. He's not the sort i'd like to see as a leader of men on the pitch or off it. Gerrard is no great man either, but he led well in the first game and does so with enough aplomb for the scousers.

I genuinely lauged out loud at that, at work. People are now looking at me oddly.

As a member of the 'Terry is a COCKER' club, I'm surprised that I now find myself wishing that he was the captain rather than rabbit-caught-in-the-headlights Gerrard, who I have yet to see offer any encouragement to his teammates.
f*** all this 'must give respect to Algeria' bullshit, we should be out-working, out-fighting and out-playing all the teams in our group. Oh, and any chance of one of the England players making a f***ing tackle before the tournament ends?
Cheers, back to Church now....

Playing snooker
"Lead, follow, or get out of the way." (Thomas Paine 1737-1809)

We've got that on a poster in the locker room at work. I think that's fairly apt for the England squad at present.

A lot of the current squad (Terry included) say the right things in interviews personally I would rather they put some of the rhetoric into practice on the pitch
