You think he faked getting his head split open?

They reported that he DID have a concussion.

I think it was actually the reporters who were suggusting he may be concussed. It was never medically confirmed.

I think he was fainting, it's called concussion. Was horrible to watch. Not exactly Joe Cole's style to do a Rivaldo.

I hope you're not a medic by trade. Fainting and concussion are two entirely different things. The fact that he didn't go to hospital and within 30 minutes was back on the bench joking and shaking hands suggest there was no concussion. I think he just got up after the collision and then realised he had a lot of blood on his hand and fell to the ground. You don't screw your face up if you are fainting, you just black out. He was either trying to get the guy sent off (which was the correct decision anyway) or he is just a cry baby and didn't like the sight of his own blood. My money is on a combination of the two. As for him not doing a Rivaldo, Joe Cole goes down like a sack of potatoes at the slightest touch.

No I spose not. But I'd argue that he was in his rights to react at least when a boot comes at his head when he's already jumping.

But there was no contact-it was discraceful to feign a head injury because he had lost the ball and couldn't be bothered to chase back. This is the England captain FFS.

So you're happy that by rolling around on the ground, despite no contact, he practically handed Croatia a goal that they didn't deserve? .

To be fair with Terry's lack of pace he was never going to get back to defend whether he was lying on the floor or hot footing back on a scooter.

True-but the twat could have at least pretended to make an effort and if he hadn't plopped to the deck he woudn't have needed much pace to get the ball back.

That's the point I was making. It WAS a free kick - the foot was high - it doesn't have to make contact. But Terry was not touched and yet he stayed on the ground and faked an injury for so long that he missed the goal.

Of course the Croatians were disgusting last night - their fans were worse - but I don't want to see the England Captain pretending to be so badly injured that he can't get up when he wasn't even touched. Not impressed - it's insidious.

Indeed Hans - some of their 'wonderful' fans were doing the monkey-noise thing when Heskey got booked. :nono:

Yet England fans are still considered to be the 'bad boys' of football. Very depressing. Even more depressing is the fact that the authorities will do f*** all as usual-unless an England fan decides to head-butt a police baton or two for no reason.

The atmosphere (at least through the TV) seemed pretty nasty. There's patriotism and then there is the kind of level that supporters of teams like Croatia and Turkey take it to - little short of baying.

In a region that is still torn by wars and racial tension I can understand it - but it is nasty. Was great to hear the crowd silenced. The same crowd that laughed on Saturday when they heard we were drawing 0-0 at half time.

He didn't even SEE his own blood s it can't be that.

Doesn't look like he's pretending to me, I'm not a medic by trade by know from personal experience there can be a bit of a delayed reaction with head injuries like that.

Still, we have to moan at someone eh?

These are the fans known for racist chants and nazi gestures. I used to like Slaven Bilic until he started making excuses for them, it's hard not to lose all respect for someone when they do that...

Thank you. Put it far better than me.
