Can someone with the knowledge please make it so whenever someone types Chris Houghton, it gets changed to Hughton a bit like typing M ike Dean gets automatically changed to, well The Complete And Utter Shyster.

Might cause confusion when the next Ray Houghton thread comes up.

To throw in a " Hearsay " statement such as that.

The post by John Barnes makes it very clear that he is using the Chris Hughton situation as an " Example "

He doesn't say that there were any " Racial Motivation" in Chris being sacked. In fact he knows that there wasn't but there have been very few Black Managers given the chance to Manage in the PL that Chris' situation is often used in circumstances. Sometimes Correctly. Sometimes Incorrectly.

I think people are getting " outraged " over nothing in this instance. This stuff has been gone over in about 3 different similar threads. It really is time to move on from it all.

It certainly isn't helping Chris that every time his name gets mentioned anywhere on NSC that the negative last 6 months at Brighton get trotted out again and again. When in fact his Legacy should be that he took them to the PL

And kept them there, which was as big an achievement.

The man is a cretin.

”Blah.. Brighton fans will take it personally.. blah..”

Yes John, well when someone accuses your club, which you know to be of high moral standing and run by a respectable, ethically good and honest management, of being racist, believe it or not it is highly, highly offensive.

It’s utterly ludicrous to even suggest our club have acted in a racist manner in any way shape or form.

What a low intellect, ignorant man he is.

Exactly.

Barnes comes across as a nice guy, but thick as mince.

He's not doing anyone any favours coming out with rubbish like this.

John Barnes is the Talksport of racism just lots of ill informed and controversial statements under the guise of trying to move the agenda forward. All it does it guarantee him a steady flow of TV and media bookings but he is not helping solve the problem.

Racist Brighton, my arse. There isn’t one of us (board, staff, fans) who wouldn’t welcome a black manager here again. In fact we’d all be w*nking (or flicking!) ourselves silly if that manager was Bobby Zamora or Leon Rosenior.

There are some people who are just blinded by their prejudice.

Barnes demonstrates he is as bad as the people he thinks are racist.

Barnes implies in his tweet that it could have been racial, that's how I read it anyway.
The first not surprise in sacking C H was the timing, many other clubs would have sacked he managed earlier. It's good to see so many people defending the club. Hopefully the club have a word with lawyers, this might shut him up. All Barnes is doing is making it more difficult for future black managers. Why he had to bring Brighton into it I don't know, maybe he could have used Sol Campbell as an example.

When I think of John Barnes as a fairly good footballer, the main things that come to mind are,
1 Trying to put any blame on anything into being racial
2 outstanding goal for England v Brazil
3 His so called rap on a song
4 His hopeless managerial career
