Apparently QPR looking to loan him to the Championship (I have no idea why) and Blackburn are favourites.

The question is, do you think we could get him and would you want him with all his obvious baggage.

Could he be the man in the middle to bully the opposition? Granted he's not that tall but more than makes up for this with his "tenacity in the challenge" :lolol:

For me it's a tough one to call, it would be hard to cheer him TBH. Would he even be interested in coming? Perhaps he wants to move back up Norf anyhow now that he's ticked off all the London museums that he loved visiting :lolol:

He is a decent footballer though

Lets be honest, he'd be a class signing. He'd boss the midfield, I know his disciplinary record isn't amazing but he's the kind of tough guy midfielder we need if we do need one.

No, No, No on every level
Bad for the dressing room and morale, bad for the image of the club, not very likely to get on with Gus and not a particularly good footballer either....

Apart from that....maybe

Jesus Christ

If it wasn't for his attitude he'd be an England international, so he obviously has got the ability of a very good footballer

I would rather have Paul Scharner who is a free agent - talking to Birmingham unfortunately :(

Wouldn't touch Barton with a bargepole

On the pitch, would be a fantastic acquisition . The excess baggage he carries FAR outweigh the benefit on the pitch. Would be bad for dressing room morale too. Absolutely no.

He is EXACTLY the sort of player we are looking for.

Absolute quality and a complete **** to boot. Gus, get him in!

Some of you lot seem to think this game is a popularity contest....it's not!

Aren't we a passing team? Wasn't he statistically the worst passer in the Premiership last season?

Also who were Reading and Southampton's hard man midfielders?
Or Swansea or Norwich's the season before?

Charlie had a bit of a reputation, and we need that strong player in the middle.

Please for the love of all things good in the world don't let it be Joey Barton though. The guy is a CJTC of the highest order.

Barton when he has his game head on is a quality player no question. But no we don't want him because the baggage just isn't worth it. Let that joker Kean have him at Blackburn.

Obnoxious excuse for a human being and, with his nasty and uncontrollable traits, the worse possible example to all our young Seagulls supporters.
