Hilarious how this is going.

The margins between players and squads in the premiership are small. That's why teams at the top don't win ten nil every week. West Brom have some good players. A few would strengthen our squad. Joe Cole was a talented player but never fulfilled his potential and is not really cut out for punditry. Its an interesting proposition though because the difference between us and West Bromwich really is marginal. As is the difference between us and West ham for example.

I genuinely think we have players several levels above Brom. Lamptey, Gross, Lallana, Trossard, Webster, Dunk, Bissouma especially.

I suspect Joe Cole doesn’t really know much about us and was essentially “winging” his punditry on the spot and it’s just an ignorant platitude. Albeit not malicious and not atypical of most mainstream pundits.

Exactly. It’s just a topical conversation, I don’t really get the thread police here. I have no interest in Jukebox or Deliveroo posts, but I don’t barge in and start criticising or name calling. I quietly ignore and move on to another thread.

But be careful, according to “Guinness Boy” (22,067 posts) and “Stat Brother” (61,506 posts.. I repeat, 61,506) this is not a valid topic and to discuss it is “needy”.

Very sage advice. Pundits very rarely say anything insightful that you haven’t figured out for yourself.

As for Joe Cole, I remember him being touted as a wonderkid at WHU. He was a good player to watch in his day. For a period of time around 2006 he was England’s best player for a couple of years. That goal against Sweden in the 2006 WC - what a beauty! Any player would be pleased to score that.

Shame whenever he opens his mouth, he sounds like he’s just had a lobotomy.

Garbage. I don't need too, I'm not offended by JCs opinion. We always see these type of threads when someone says something negative about us, outraged. As a fan base we have some real delicates out there.

OP has a history for starting pointless threads to raise postcount. "An open letter to Potter Out Brigade" - I've said in the past, postcounts should be deleted and we wouldn't see this kind of nonsense.

Yep. The one highlighting when he called Barcelona’s academy The Masala is my particular favourite.

Joe Cole is by all accounts a nice guy, loves football and he was a very good player but he’s clearly out of his depth in this role. When are TV companies going to realise that just because someone played the game at a high level, it doesn’t mean they’re going to be any good as a pundit?!
