The best spoons in B&H
Not so, I have posted in previous threads, understaffed and overcrowded. Tried a few times to have a Sunday roast in there and always gave up waiting to get served.

Sorry HT I've already finished my first issue of Build the Millenium Falcon and I'm a bit ratty as I won't be able to get Issue 2 with the free screwdriver for another 10 days.
I was going to suggest taking a sandwich.
Oh, I know it's each to their own but the Marina is one of those places that I just don't get. Probably a five minute drive from beautiful architecture and interesting pubs and someone has seen fit to recreate Crawley, Milton Keynes or Northampton's Sixfields but with boats.
Why does appreciating good food make you a food snob ? If people appreciate good football does that make them football snobs ?
As for Jimmy's, I've heard horrendous stories about the chain - don't think I'll risk it.

Good point, treat the family to a cheap liquid lunch instead. The beer selection is as good as most pubs; they regularly have Brewdog on and bottles of Rogue Amber
If this place is at the marina then I'd suggest Nandos is a better option if you have 10-15 pounds to spend.
I don't think he was saying there's anything wrong with appreciating good food (because there really isn't), more that some people are very quick to sneerily judge somewhere based on price/location and nothing else.
To carry on the football comparison, it'd be like a Spurs fan writing off all lower league football without ever actually attending/watching a match.

And for those of us that don't live in the centre of Brighton and who are perhaps visiting the cinema?

I've already ruled myself out on this thread about sneering on price, but can I join in at the sneering at one particular location: the Marina -- it's full of awful chain restaurants governed by high margins and bland, corporate nonsense.
Not a huge fan of spoons, but as you say HT, their choice of beers (strongbow, real ales , lagers and girl's drinks) is second to none and reasonably priced too.
The Brewdog was £3.15. Which seemed a fair price to me. And a view looking across the boats.
Correct. The clientele in some less central venues can be a little off-putting and the large domestic violence emergency call-line poster near the door of the Hove branch was depressing but otherwise they're not as bad as people make out.
Surely not as depressing as perhaps bumping into ERNEST at the Hove branch of the spoons ?
