Allegations have been made and they are being followed up. There is nothing out of the ordinary in this wether the accused is alive or not. If these allegations had been made while he was alive he would likely be found guilty if it got to court. I think it would have been pretty impossible to deny or even explain away 120 seperate women's accounts. However, he is dead so I'm not sure what will happen after the enquiry is complete. If he did do these things at least the victims may now be able to take some steps towards healing themselves. I would imagine one of the hardes things about this kind of abuse for the victim would be living in silence or not being believed. I think it's safe to say the majority of people believe them and this alone will give them a foundation on which to start to heal themselves.

Well said.

These allegations does any one realy believe them, why did these women not come forward when the alleged crimes were commited or at least while the man was still alive. One allegation has been followed by over a hundred more how can any thing now be proved, imho the women now coming out of the woodwork are nothing but attention seakers if they had been wronged they would have gone to the police at the time

He is a dirty. filthy c#*t and i hope that if there really is a hell, he is in it. I watched the Louis Theroux documentary again last night. You should too. Shows an insight into what a wierd freak of a man he really was. He was a predator, how he got away with it for soo long we will never know. He is just as bad as Gary Glitter in my opinion. Shame he is dead, will never be able to answer his crimes now.

Agreed but that's exactly what the police and co should be doing. Let's hold off blowing up his grave, removing his knighthood and generally marking him as a guilty man until the police release their findings.

You lose you knighthood when you die anyway...

Plus he's blatantly guilty.

What happens if i jump on the band waggon and i say that jimmy abused me,would you believe it, more importantley would a jury believe it

If there was some corrobative evidence indicating, at the very least, that you had been in contact with him at the time the alleged offence took place that would be a start. Whther any jury believed you from that point on would depend on what other evidence you were able to provide e.g. witnesses or people you had confided in after the incident. If you announced to the world that he abused you and could offer nothing to indicate that you had even met him then, No, I probably wouldn't believe you.

Just read the Mail article where Janet Street Porter says that a certain show biz agent asked her for a blow job.

I watched that on you tube last night as well(these international breaks are unbearable!). Savile always appeared to use his charity work as a trump card. He rarely gave Theroux a straight answer to a question. Courting the media at every opportunity. All that stuff about the 'Duchess' and near the end of that documentary his comments about 'hating kids', which he admitted was to throw the media of the scent in regard to rumours that he was a child abuser. I though the content of that documentary was bizarre like most people when i first saw it on tv when it was orginally broadcast but now after all these recent allegations you have to wonder.

What has amazed me that people are surprised. For some reason in the back of my head i thought everyone knew he was a nonce, i seem to remember rumours and allegations coming out about 5 years ago but i can't find anything on it. This is a bit like realising that the sun comes up every morning.

This just surpised it wasnt young boys.

I dont believe the women are attension seeking - if they were they would have exposed this when he was alive - look at the sensation its caused now with him dead. I also think people forget how powerful and famous he was - i grew up in the 70's and 80's and saville was on the telly prime time all the time. He was very important to the BBC on raitings and popularity. Saville clearly surrounded himself with people who would at best turn a blind eye and at worst facilitate what was going on. The BBC and all the cohorts should be investigated by the police regardless of Saville's inability to respond. If nothing else comes out of this sorry mess, it may at least help the recovery process of the victims and surely we would all want that.

I think Mutts Nutts has either completed his fishing trip or realised that he has posted some completely moronic comments. Probably both and not for the first time.

With such a large number of accusers it must be reasonable to assume they can't all be making it up
I don't think it's at all reasonable to assume someone is guilty purely because of the number of accusers. However, there is a lot more than that going against JS here.

I think judgement should only be made once a through investigation is completed.
Has anyone suggested there ever will be a judgement (I've not followed the story)?

I do not think JS is the story here, yes i think he abused young girls and was allowed to get away with it. ( and his victims need closure). The story is lets look at who else was involved and who knew and said nothing. I for one are fed up with a constant stream of people who write or appear on tv to say they heard rumours or knew. IMO I think there is a lot more people involved in this, maybe a ring of people who colluded with JS as they maybe had the same tastes. I can not believe that nobody knew that this was going on. Where was the duty of care for these children appearing on shows. People have already said that they walked in on him in dressing rooms with girls. When J King and G Glitter were done a few years ago, why did these people who knew JS was also involved did they not say then and add him to the mix.
The girls have done nothing wrong, it takes a lot of courage to come forward. They have been let down by people who think its ok to say now
'' Oh yes we all knew what he was like''

This is a crucial point for me.

Ok so Savile was revered and 'god-like' around the BBC.
He was able to use his charity 'power' to maintain that position.

But at that point someone within the licensee funded BBC should have said:-

'Ok over there we have these FACTS, over here we have these rumours, we need to investigate whether they can be joined'.
