Saw him interviewed by Piers Morgan a few years ago and if he'd set out to show himself in the worse possible light he couldn't have done any better. Anyone watching that had never heard of him would have come to the same conclusion as most people on this thread, he even made Morgan look almost human. BTW if he'd been born in the land of his father he'd have a Scottish accent.

Well that's nonsense. I thought he was a loathsome unfunny individual then, so did all my mates, so did my mum and dad......and my gran.
What is non nonesence MP ? That he was Britains top or at least on of the top entertainers in the country.

There was programme on BBC radio 4 the other day asking as to why there were no right wing comedians popular on the BBC. I had to laugh.

So you are now angry that the Coalition are trying to do something about this??? Wake up morons

Yep, angry about the way they are doing it. Why take more off the poor that have so little to give anyway when they could follow Hollande's lead and tax the rich. Perhaps if Osbourne didn't let his mates in Vodafone off there tax bill we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now.

Basic economic sense, no clairvoyancy skill required. Whilst I agree with you to an extent regarding current policy, there can be no doubt that this mess has been inherited by the conservatives and will take at least 25 years resolve.

You didn't respond re the NHS part of the original post presumably you agree?

In the same way selling off the utilities to private firms makes no basic economic sense.. Oh yes, it was inherited, no doubt about it. But if the Tories were in power it'd still be a global economic crisis so laying it totally at the door of Labour is distorting the facts somewhat.

I didn't reply with the NHS because it's a tricky one and it's another debate altogether. However, yes, I am inclined to agree in so much that I don't trust any party with the NHS at the moment.

Is this the case? Osborne said it will be sorted by the end of the current parliament; therefore it will be sorted within 2 years.

Follow hollandes lead and tax the rich :lolol: that's working out well for the French isn't it ? Any other gems from the Denis healey school of economics you'd like to add ?

Just need Garry Bushell and Kelvin MacKenzie to join him and you'll have the full set of our right-of-Genghis-Khan embarrassing 'celebrity' fans :(

They're not really are they? I mean, I know Davidson supports Charlton, but do the other two as well or was that just a joke?

Hollande wants companies that pay their employees more than €1m to pay 75% tax on those salaries. Now that is a real game changer and if he gets it France will be better off. I'd rather that than Gideon's 'mates rates' and let-offs.

Just imagine- you're on a six month tour of duty in Afghanistan, fighting Taliban fanatics on a daily basis, putting your life on the line, away from your family and friends for months on end, missing Christmases and birthdays, living in hellishly hot conditions and ever under the threat of attack from even supposed allies in the Afghan National Army.

But you focus, you get your head down, you carry on with the job you're trained to do, never letting it get you down.

And then, one evening, Jim Davidson turns up to "boost morale"

Funny how all these 'name' fans of opposition clubs were scarcely ever spotted at Withdean.

They were all there, in the Jeff Wood Portakabin Lounge, but you just couldn't see them from the South Stand, over the pitch, sixteen lanes of running track and a long jump pit.

If you knew your stuff here Edna, you would know that JD actually goes down a storm when he trots off to the various military bases around the world, he talks their language.

However, I saw him at the Dome back in the 80's,... he was sh1t.

I understand what you're saying, but it's a bit simplistic to suggest that all military types identify with Davidson. I've got plenty of friends who are current or ex-forces, and many of them would say he's a complete arsehat. I suppose if you're in some godforsaken dusty hovel for months on end, anything that breaks the routine is probably welcome, so perhaps that's part of it. It makes a change from playing on the Playstation or watching DVDs in Camp Bastion every evening for three months.

Well, he plays the 'patriot' card first off, gets them lapping that up, then throws himself into his usual sexist/bigoted routines... a lot of my family, currently serving or ex, always say his shows sell out on bases not just confined to Iraq/Afghan,... UK, Germany and the Falklands too.
