The loan move worked out great for him, he clearly needed to be playing regularly and the work he's done off the field has helped massively too. Lingard had a very good spell lasting around a dozen games . I’m not totally convinced he can keep that up over a whole season . Will see next season . Certainly don’t think we should break the bank to get him , I’d rather have Tammy . Not that that’s likely to happen .

I heard a radio thing where the change was put down to him addressing long-standing mental issues and putting a lot of work into being "mentally fit". I think his mum suffers clinical depression and he got help he's needed for a long time to manage his own responses to that and the responsibility that comes with it, and that's refocused and re-energised him.

I hope that's the case and hopefully he can maintain the form he showed from January onwards. He was fantastic for West Ham, far better than I'd have expected from him based on the previous 5 years of form. I've nothing against the guy at all and I was more than happy to be put in my place. A football career is relatively short but he's probably got 5 years at the top level left if he wants it.

Agreed with all these points - very strange article with no substance. Like a clickbate article from some shit site on the transfer window! But yes, I see no chance him coming to us if he leaves as West Ham will be all over it and he’s just done really well there and they’re slightly better than us currently and a higher profile club.
