I strongly suspect he’ll be going out on loan again. David Weir’s comments were quite telling, IMO. He didn’t say something like ‘we’ll be welcoming Jeremy back into Roberto’s first team squad’.

The lack of this makes me think that Sarmiento is back up to plan A. I suspect we are hoping to get someone in very quickly (maybe on loan?) and if this doesn't come off Jeremy will stay. If it does come off, he'll be loaned out again to get more playing time. Possibly

I would think our needs to get through the rest of the season trump any need to sell/loan. If he goes, then I'd assume the club are happy we have enough or are getting more

Yeah I'm not actually arguing against him being here, as such, but he went out on loan for game time, which he was getting..

Not much, he wasn't. Most of his appearances were as a late substitute. Not nearly enough to make it a worthwhile loan - slightly better than Ayari's, Weir's or Peupion's (which has already been cancelled) but that's not saying much.
In terms of helping out with our injuries crisis, he was probably the most obvious one to be brought back to play for us, but whether the club will do that - no idea!

He's played on the wing many many times. I don't know if he's played in central midfield more, but I don't think it makes sense to say he's not a winger with the amount of times he's played there.

You could be right but we don’t know what we were looking to get from the loan to WBA. It’s all part of his journey to see what level he can play at, if he can fit in at a different club, has the championship toughened him, etc. We don’t know but no one expected him to set the world alight at WBA and return as the complete PL player.
Maybe WBA didn’t want to keep him and need to strengthen in other areas.
Surely he’s a useful addition on the bench while we find out how long we will be without Mitoma and Adingra.

We are down to the bare bones and in theory his addition could be beneficial. Like others I was surprised that he was released at all to go on loan, but trust RDZ and his staff. But another poster has mentioned the rule that you can't play for 3 clubs in one season -if I have understood this correctly, playing him now would mean that he would have to stay with us, which might not be good for his development -he was loaned out in the first place for a reason and so when the injured list does diminish, then presumably he could find himself perpetually warming the bench.

Presumably he'll be available to play for us for 3x games in January where the squad is comically stretched, and could then be loaned out at the end of the window is we manage to secure a better option.
