Most of the left is pushing for MORE democracy, MORE political involvement and power by regular people, LESS authoritarian policies, LESS government power/surveillance, than we currently have. So in other words, the exact opposite to Soviet Russia, Communist China, East Germany and so on.

Instead we want more genuine socialism - by that we mean social ownership and/or social control of the means of production and co-operative management of the economy...

and MORE self contradiction - or cant you see that less authority and government power is the opposite of government directed production and managment of economy? at least communism is intellectually consistant.

8:45. Blink and you'll miss it x

Oh. Is it a pre-record? Last time I heard you was talking about FIFA on the phone-in during the summer. I was going to call and suggest Nicky Campbell ask you about alternative uses for your shed when locked out...

It's live, but they have a habit of cancelling interviews at short notice when a big story comes in (such as residents complaining of strange smell coming from a shed in Cheshire) so no guarentee it won't be a wasted trip.

Not if you get to see Rachel Burden. She sounds like a fox.

Not sure about your last para UUH; there are so few super rich individuals compared to the rest of the population that they can't win elections, but the people in the 'swinging middle' can.
Anyway, no bad thing having a few super riches around the place, they generally spend a few bob, employ people and even keep the odd footy club afloat!:lolol::lolol:

Give a billion to the super rich and they will spend a few bob. This is true.
Give a billion to the poor and they will spend a billion.

Take a few billion from the poor and that's a few billion out of the economy.... that is the failing of the austerity policy.

Corbyn what a prick! Wouldn't trust him to run a bath! Lost my vote maybe because I'm hard working and have paid tax for the last 40 years he doesn't represent me just the left wing over educated spongers who wouldn't know a hard days graft if it jumped up and offered them a job!

That is one of the most astute posts I've seen in a while, i too wouldn't trust another man to run a bath for me! I'm sure i speak for you when i say its a damning indictment of our fellow man.

Yes great, just print more dosh when we need it. Dish it out to all and sundry, what a spending frenzy, what a recipe for financial shambles.

Wouldn't happen in East Germany

I know this is tongue in cheek. I used to see German grandparents every year in the time of the existence of East Germany, and they lived very close to the town in Bavaria, where the railway line crossed into East Germany - one of the very few that did. When the trains crossed into the workers paradise, where everyone was equal, the EG authorities removed all markings indicating "First Class". On occasions, however, they were left, and the locals always used to say that was because communist dignitaries were on the train.
When EG dissolved, western TV crews went around Wandlitz ( I think that is how the suburb is written?) looking at the palatial homes of the communist bosses living in total seclusion from the mass of the population, who of course had no idea of the extent of the opulence of their existence.
Much fanfare will now be made of justice/equality/fairness etc etc but human nature needs to change first.
