Hmmmmm,
LABOUR leadership favourite Jeremy Corbyn has accepted more than £90,000 from the trade unions.
The money includes an interest-free loan from Unite, which Mr Corbyn was handed just one day after tabling a motion in the House of Commons in support of the union.

Mr Corbyn also received £25,000 from the RMT union and £10,000 from Aslef.

Unite and Aslef have also been providing the MP with "serviced offices" at a reported value of nearly £6,000.

The unions are helping Corbyn. This is hardly a scoop. Next you'll be telling us dogs bark.

If , Heaven forbid, we do, I sincerely believe we will have riots that will make the 81disorder look like a child's birthday party

So now like Tony Benn you are virulently anti EU because he understood, amongst other things it was a) undemocratic, and the HoP would be subordinate to Brussels and b) a free labour market was going to hang the British working class out to dry.

Have I got your new political beliefs right comrade?

This thread shows how messed up British politics has become. Traditional boundaries moved and conflicting loyalties add to the confusion.

It's clear to me that regardless of the result of this leadership election and/or the next general election that pro/anti austerity is replacing traditional left/right.

I don't think that being pro-austerity is commensurate with being a socialist. There is room for a popularist anti-austerity movement in this country, it'll be interesting to see if that's the Labour Party or something else..

pro/anti austerity is just new clothing for very old ideas of how much state funding and direction of the population is a good idea. the left like to spend lots, the right would rather not. by the next election i think we'll all be bored of "austerity" and be back to the old concepts and arguments.

I know you don't, it's because you don't understand socialism.

You think you do but you don't, you probably never will, I have explained the critical aspects of it so many times to you and why the EU is anti-socialist but you still don't get it.

You are not alone, there are millions of you, but you are not a socialist, like Toynbee you are a Blairite neo liberal ( a Tory) that does not want state socialism.

The German Govt is a shareholder in DB AG it is not nationalised.

It is the parent company of a group of companies (like Arriva) that distributes it's profit to other capitalist shareholders, mainly in other EU member states. The German Govt has similar arrangement with Deutsche Telekom And Duets he Poste.

This ownership model is not "finer detail" it is the very nexus of difference between capitalism and socialism.

As a socialist Benn despised the EU..........you are either with him or against him.

http://civitas.org.uk/newblog/2014/...-again-at-tony-benns-arguments-for-democracy/

The Blairite Labour Party was against him..........they were not socialist, THEY REMOVED CLAUSE IV.

Just for a bit of clarity for you, because I suspect you are not old enough to remember Tony Benn, this is what he said when Blair persuaded the Labour Party to remove clause IV......

"Labour's heart is being cut out and handed to the City. This is really our promise to the City, `Don't worry, we will never interfere with your right to run the economy'."

You supported Miliband, he was he wasn't prepared to reverse clause IV.........he was NOT a socialist.

Your argument is rather childish, not to mention a bit tiresome now. For the record, I'm a democratic socialist. For the record I support the Labour Party as they're, in general, the party most aligned to my beliefs and the party with the most realistic chance of putting them into action whilst we have FPTP. This does not mean I support EVERYTHING and EVERYONE connected to Labour.

And as a democratic socialist it doesn't mean I agree with everything this prescribes either. I'm comfortable with my politics thank you.

So which party do you follow in the country you live in?

The German Govt is a shareholder in DB AG it is not nationalised.

Definition of nationalise from the Oxford English Dictionary: Transfer (a major branch of industry or commerce) from private to state ownership or control.

The German government owns and controls DB AG. It doesn't mean it isn't, just because it isn't set up in the way your rigid and anachronistic beliefs believe it should be set up.
