sorry but i'm really defensive of us brits.( in F1 ) for some reason, we always seem to find fault even when we win.... nothings ever bloody good enough is it? 2 world champs and 2 constructors in the last 2 years and all we can say????? " well JB scraped it and he was lucky?
It's heartening to see someone so passionate about a British F1 world champion, I admire your defence of his honour....

Well done JB and well deserved on that race he showed he had the balls to take the risks against all criticism, poor old smug face Hamilton looked gutted on the podium.

That was arguably his best ever drive...I for one have never seen him drive like that before!

Awesome and well done!!

There are some seriously disingenuous posters on this board, honestly.

If you see an amazing piece of architecture do you think the designer had a brilliant drafting desk? Or a great house so the builder had an amazing trowel? An artist only got success because of his brushes, Hendrix was only top because of his guitar?

Button has a great car, but HE won - and he won by good driving

Lewis is still a good driver, he still managed to get 49 points in an uncompetitive car. If he had had a couple less offs he might well have pushed Jenson to the end. Remember, the Mclaren was so off the pace in the first 8 or so races he barely got a point.

TCB you're well off-beam to descibe Button as mediocre. It's simply not possible for a mediocre driver to win 6 GPs out of 7.

The story is really about the Brawn team and what they did this season. This will never be repeated in F1 history and I will be looking out for mention of SIR Ross Brawn in the New Year's Honours list because that's some achievement by the man.

i like your picture of JB's dad

D'ya think that makes Jenson favourite for sports personality of the year then? I'd give it to Ross Brawn - although thinking about it Team owner/manager isn't actually a sportsman, does that matter?

Lewis still a good driver? That doesnt do him enough justice! For me, Lewis Kimi and Alonso are the three best drivers in F1 at the minute. Im more than happy for Jenson, he deserves it for the blinding drive today and his impressive performances at the start of the season! But Jenson, in my opinion is not in the same league as Lewis, Kimi and Nando!

Jenson is right up there with the best. The best car nearly always wins. It just so happens this is the 1st time since he was a novice that Jenson has had a good car. Did Lewis win in a shit car? No. The only recent drivers who've won in sub standard cars are Schumacher and Alonso. We've seen Hamilton can't win in a shit car so to those that are knocking Jenson....you haven't got a clue about F1

I say this having just won the NSC Fantasy F1 for the 2nd year running :lolol:

perhaps you could consider Seb Vet too? Surely natural successor to his Scumacherness?

I agree Lewis is a good driver but a bit of a brat and not as genuine as Jenson IMO.

Absolutely - I think next season he will really surprise a few people. I would like to see him be a bit more aggressive and show a bit more emotion like he did this weekend. Fantastic talent, without a doubt

Its not always about winning with a shit car, its the performances given in a shit car. Jenson done well also with the BAR / Honda back in 04 and in 06. I think some people knocking Jenson dont understand how easy it is to "tighten up" when put under intense pressure to deliver something, especially in a sport like F1. Lewis won 2 grands prix this season in a car which was clearly not the best, similar to Alonso in the past too. I think in Hungary and Singapore the Red Bull was the better car. I believe that the Honda of 07/08 was as equally poor to the MP4 / 24 at the BEGINNING of this season. I think Lewis done well at times this season but did make mistakes whilst trying to extract the best out of the car, that was clear to see. Wacthing Lewis drive it live, at Barcelona, where it clearly was a handful was fantastic to see. Kimi also has done fantastic in that poor Ferrari in the second half of this season. Next year will be brilliant, I dont think Alonso will have it all his own way at Ferrari. Massa seems "up for it"!
