Loan him to Leeds? I'm hearing they're amazing at discovering already known talents.

Seriously though, he looks a fantastic prospect.

The most curious thing..
Quote from Wigan's academy manager on SSN report..

"Whilst we are going through the most difficult period of the club's history, it is well documented that the sale of Jensen will allow us time to hopefully build a new future.
"With this in mind, Jensen won't necessarily be remembered by our supporters for his few appearances on the pitch but for a vital moment towards the club's survival.

a galaxy far far away
So then Jenson.

A year in the development squad
New contract to protect investment
A year in league 2
A year in the Championship
Sale or a tilt at the first team

I might be wrong but isn't that to do with the school football system, if you're in that country, you play for that nation? For the same reason that Ryan Giggs played for England school boys? I appreciate that may have changed since.

I'd imagine he would opt for Scotland out of choice.

EDIT - scrap that, just looked it up and he chose to switch to England. I like him even more now!

Great signing for the future. What was the fee?

Nice quote. Very much the way we remember Beeney today even though Beeney did play quite a few games for us.

Implication from the Wigan media is that the fee (reportedly around £500k up front) was enough to keep everyone at the club in a job and paid until the new season starts. Hopefully they'll have a new owner in by then.

Also in the Argus.

500k is nothing and well worth a punt.

Plus the £250k non-relegation clause as part of the Burn deal.

I think it's great that we, as a club, are circumnavigating the divide between the PL and FL and finding a way to help out a club in need. I'm sure that we would've been able to get a deal for Weir at a much lower initial cost with lots of add-ons depending on performance. Stumping the money up front works well for all involved.

I know the ethics wouldn't ever allow it but imagine if we could put a B team in the Championship with the amount of young talent we have, Surely wouldn't be far off a play off place?
