Some of you talk some right old balls. The Spanish 2nd Division is no worse than the Championship. The teams are broadly equivalent albeit the football is a little different as you would expect; more tactical.

In case anyone needs reminding, for example, Ulloa couldn't get a game for Almeria.

The season before last Ulloa scored 29 goals for them. It was a new manager coming in that seemingly didn't rate him which saw him not play as often and move to us

Also, the Championship is markedly stronger than Segunda in one key area - attendance. The average in the Spanish second division is about 7k compared to 17k here.

With regards to Ulloa, correct, nearly every team in the League would have played hm, however Almeria believed they had a striker (Charles) better than him. Nevertheless, if that league was as **** as some of you seem to believe there's no way that player would have been left out for someone else.

As for attendances, what the hell has that got to do with the price of fish?

Quite a lot really as its related to revenue and the ability to pay players. So if we are agreeing that it is of a similar standard, given the state of the Spanish economy and the fact that a number of English clubs are sniffing about. Is this deal really beyond the realms of possibility? I would say 'no'.

On that point I agree with you, Teddy. If that was Shaolinpunk's point I wish I'd understood it that way. Instead, I thought it was an extension of "Commander"'s previous post.

You are almost certainly correct. But don't they largely invest in the senior team, I seem to recall reading somewhere that this is partly the reason why some of their 'B' players go on loan each year, which is all this player would be doing presumably.
