As I said yesterday, I don't like this Deniz woman. She's nothing but a KILLJOY.

She needs to learn the subtle art of speculation.

GossiphungryBrightonfan: @noeliadeniz is there any truth in the rumour that [insert Spanish flair genius here] might be set to join the Albion?

NoeliaDeniz: @GossiphungryBrightonfan: You mean the pacy young Sporting Gijon winger who has 8 goals in his last 4 appearances and has been recently courted by Atletico and Valencia? I can neither confirm nor deny such rumours

GossiphungryBrightonfan: pardon me, I've just cum

She claims to have a seat in the Oscar. She's sort of a Spanish Andy Naylor.

She seems unimpressed by this talk

I don't trust this Woman whatsoever. She said a week ago, about the rumor of Soriano from Red Bull Salzburg coming to us, is not going to happen because of his wages. But how does she know what kind of Wages he is on with them and why would he want to stay in the Austrian League?!

The fact that this kid is still there at Barca having signed when he was 13 must means they like him. Of course last year we got Gai Assulin from Barca B via Man City, but he left in 2010 when he was 19.

That woman wouldnt confirm any rumours on twitter anyway, it would blow any credibility she might have with any good inside sources of info.

How good are Barcelona B? Obviously I believe they can never play in the top league due to the fact they are reserves, but is the second division in Spain as good as the championship? What are the crowds? TV coverage? Average player wages?

Given that the economy in Spain is relatively precarious, are rumours for such players really unrealistic?

They're probably a decent Championship side, but the division itself isn't as good as the Championship. Crowds vary wildly, and the clubs are nothing like as big as the clubs in the Championship. And the third tier is like non league football here.

Thanks. So perhaps it's not that unrealistic...... Or maybe, a Barcelona 'B' player isn't good enough for us in any case!!!

I used to go and watch Rayo Vallecano a lot because I lived a couple of stops on the metro away. Some of the teams would bring 10 fans. Good standard of football but not very competitive.

Some of you talk some right old balls. The Spanish 2nd Division is no worse than the Championship. The teams are broadly equivalent albeit the football is a little different as you would expect; more tactical.

In case anyone needs reminding, for example, Ulloa couldn't get a game for Almeria.

Oh, and let's consider what's been happening to some of last season's Barcelona B team, which finished 9th.

Deufoleu has gone to Everton
Luis Alberto has signed for Liverpool
Muniesa has signed for Stoke
Rafinha has signed for Celta Vigo (La Liga)
Lomban has signed for Elche (La Liga)
